You ask her to tell you about her roots and herbs and stuff.
6*
She tells you of her herbs and roots, but you easily see that her tales don't match with what you know of herbs. Some are indeed used as folk remedies, but the combinations are straight wrong, and some even poisonous if mixed wrongly. You decide to call her out on this, and from that point onwards, the old woman fumbles in her talk, until the courtiers decide they had enough of this charlatan. The old herbalist, screeching, is dragged into the dungeon.
Later on you learn that she had a deal with the magistrate who 'recommended' her, to get extra cash from payment she would earn. He is quickly dungeoned and replaced with someone much more honest.
1164 AD, End of the Year
For the first time in your life, you will peruse the Scrolls of Kingdom Status. This is quite exciting, sending shivers down your spine - or perhaps it's this freezing draft in the palace.
After hours of waiting since early morning, the Advisor finally comes to your chambers. Your wife, busy in the corner sewing a new tunic for Bjern, can't help but peek at the Scrolls herself.
