You decide to begin the hatching process right away. You plop the egg in the roost, craddle it with your legs and-

"HISSSSSS." You quickly stand up and look around, before you notice a large, white, six-legged serpent descent from the rocks! This 'dragon' looks extremely pissed that you violated his roost and attacks!

You manage to evade his large, toothed jaw for long enough to get into proper stance and draw your sword, phew!

What follows its vicious exchange of attempted bites and attempted slashes, although you do score few cuts on the snake's skin. It only makes it hiss louder.

Then as it overextends himself and tries to bit your face, you manage to duck and shove your sword into under its neck. The dragon-thing hisses in pain, coils and springs about, its large tail thrashing at you!

You get smacked in the face, but you then manage to get away. The dragon hisses, convulses, and then remains still. After a good minute, you walk up to it and gently kick its head.

It is dead.

Few minutes later, after you cool off, you get rid of the snake's body and then sit with your egg.

As the evening comes, you begin to wonder if you even care properly for it...

A) Sing it an old human lullaby about Zaku and his seven elven princesses.
B) Wrap the egg in your sleeping blankets and lit a bonfire by the roost.
C) Just keep sitting it.

It begins to crack! The egg is hatching thanks to your melodious voice!

A tiny unfeathered chick leaks out from it! In the next hour spent under your blankets, the chick grows up and develops scales, before chirping at you.

A) Pet it and play widdit.
B) Give it small bite of dried meat.
C) Leave the scalechick and head home.
