I just don't really see a point in talking to them if we can just wait a couple of months and have their own people deliver their heads to us on a silver platter out of starvation.

Because the Evalians are an independent-minded former nation rabble and see us as unjust oppressors. Starving them will only reinforce that and may make the next rebellion stronger.

This is basically the third time Cyl's "conquered" Eval. We negotiated the original Duke's safe passage out of there and it didn't help any.

The messenger returns next day; Euron and his peoples are only interested in joining the Empire as free people of Eval, and if you will respect their quasi-independence, they will put down their weapons.

A) He mispelled 'Methiantese subjects' and I'm gonna take that as an insult. Starvation it is!
B) I could be partial to making them vassals instead. I mean, come on, we're big and strong, what better senior could they get?

But they are being rebellious and having someone with power doesn't seen so nice, maybe it will pacify them enough

I don't really get what the differences between these three options are.

But if they wanted more self determination they should have done it peacefully. Certainly the rebellious dude can't be rewarded for this... If different Evalians ask for some more self determination in a number of years, I think that'd be more acceptable...
