I don't think they killed the envoy?  He returned at the same time they started firing.

I read that as them launching the emissary back with the trebuchet, but you're right, it could also be him returning by foot.

Honestly I blame commas.

Your emissary returns with the first of the trebuchet shots landing in your camp!

Because I presume that the folks (and myself too) all thought that as 'he ded, and they launched his body to us', and then we went all "KILL THEM ALL" with our better cannons.

After two days and awfully quiet countryside, your officers murmur a need for some action.

B) Resume the siege.
C) RESUME BOMBARDMENT!

Your Blackhearts smash apart more towers and fortifications of the outer walls, and smoke thickens inside the city. The trebuchet fire is late to reply and comes in sporadic amounts.

Several barrages later, you hear a loud rumbling noise; many of your officers witness alongside you as the central gate and its surrounding walls crumble and collapse into giant pile of rubble!

A) Charge, my soldiers, and take the city with swords and torches!
B) Continue bombardment till they come crawling to us, begging for mercy!
C) Stop the barrage and wait for now, let them think it over.
