Yes, he apparently means the oliphaunts used against us (and possibly against Ansbach's rebellion, too: it was a long-term contract). Last time we saw Gubta's army, they were hiring out a force in the 8,000 to 10,000 range. Ours is currently about 4,000 and would probably have even or -1 rolls against them.

When working out a payment plan, our income varies from 1 to 3 per year, depending on variable trade deals. The expected value in any given year is under 2; I don't know if Haspen will let us institute any cost saving measures (for instance, we expanded our army budget but the army has shrunk recently).
