You hear that Calahan III is in deep trouble; someone from other side of his family tree, a staunch 'westerner', called Ansbach, has gathered support of Ceodwell nobles, bought some mercenary troops, and waged a war to topple Calahan III and take his place upon the throne of Methiant Ceodwell.

Once you speak with the Advisor and the Spymaster you decide to...

A) Ignore this Ceodwellian uprising thing.
B) Send a letter to Calahan, offering your Army's services (for proper pay, of course)
C) Arrange some money and supplies to be sent to this Ansbach rebel.

Ceodwell is the one we had that dust up with a few years ago right? I think we should help whichever side is weaker, and basically ensure this civil war lasts as long as possible

Calahan seized our silver, broke an marriage to our sister, insulted our family. There is no way we're helping him. At the same time, he probably still has Gubta's support (it was a ten year deal I think) so getting on the other side sounds like a waste of money.

You realize that from Ceodwell we're the westerners? This Ansbach is someone who wants to be friendly to Methiant. Calahan has spent his entire career pissing us off. I can't imagine he would ever feel "dependent."

I think that may be a mistake, considering the wording.

As far as I know, our name isn't Calahan III. The wording there implies taking Calahan's place.

I think Haspen might have derped on which throne the fellow's after, as toppling Calahan doesn't sound like a great way to get the throne of Methiant.

It's the "topple Calahan III and take his [Calahan's according to my interpretation] place" part that makes me think it's a typo, but I certainly could be wrong.
