You decide to engage Danus and his army!

It takes few days for your troops to arrive in vicinity of the besieged fortifications. Danus' army is just few hours away, nested nicely on hills and forests, spread in area between three forts.

Your officers discuss with you the options.

A) We split into three and assault all of Danus' camps at once!
B) We find a defensive position and then wait.
C) We strike the center and deliver a crushing blow to his army!
D) We strike at one flank, better not overextend ourselves.

You lead the troops against the Danus' flank!

As your attack commences, chilly winds and dark clouds bring in a snowfall that dampens and prevents Fireblood weaponry from being fired.

You fall upon the flank of Danus' forces, the mass of your men impacting a much smaller encampment. The Damdamians put up a valiant effort, but Methiantese superiority is easily assured. Corpses fall to the ground, five Damdamians per each Methiantese.

War horns of Damdamia quickly make you realize that Danus realized the danger and has begun a quick reorganization of the troops, to face you in field combat.

Now the numbers of fighting Damdamians are greater, but overall still smaller than numbers of your army.

But even that does not help Danus in protracted combat! Your mighty Army falls against it, and the meat grinder that follows thins out the ranks of Damdamians with terrifying ease.

After an hour of fighting, the beaten Damdamians retreat under the sounds of their horns. Banners and flags of Danus' main camp already flutter far in the distance, the proud Damdamian general having retreated at the front of his troops.

The officers celebrate the victory, and some call to send cavalry in pursuit of the beaten heathens!

A) After them, turn the snow red with blood!
B) No! We rest, recuperate, and wait.
C) I will personally see the Damdamian cowards dead!!

A - If we can turn this retreat into a rout, then we wont have to worry about this particular army for a while

Charging an organized retreat may not end well, but it would be prudent to finish these guys if possible.

The numerical casualties inflicted in this war have been less than I expected from the battle accounts; therefore I don't think we're near to finishing them off just now despite the clear victory. We've been at our best when choosing our moments with care, not when charging.

We have fireblood infantry & normal cav. Given the snow is dampening the guns, this is a prime environment for our cav.
