So far, the delegation sent to the elves have not returned; however, Diplomatic corps bring you a report; the leaders of the citadels of Ankurvat and Zonalath are requesting to meet with you and discuss terms of possible alliance or military support against resurgent Elven menace.

A) What elven menace? I don't see any elves menacing my populace. Silly dorfs!
B) Sure thing, maybe this will lead to closer ties with Dwarven High King, too!

On the one hand, the elves will probably flip their shit at the first change given if we do this. On the other hand, they're probably already planning to kill us and dwarves are a lot easier to please. I'm going to go with B.

I like the elves more because we can breed with them, but, you know, the dwarves are way more reasonable.

It's not so much to pick on the dwarves for starting hostilities as it is to point out their possible (likely) exaggeration of an "Elven menace" toward Methiant-Cydwyl.
They have a long trip, I'm not alarmed that we haven't heard back from the other diplomats yet.

Ideally we should talk the dwarves into postponing hostilities for a few years. Then we can strike the elves when our army is at max.
