You arrive at the gates of the keep with ease, you and your soldiers crushing all opposition that stands in your way.

But then! With loud goat trumpets, the gate of the citadel opens and a unit of fabled Cataphracts sails out! They pour out onto the street, decked from hooves of their horses to the tops of their heads in steel plates, the most decorated one moving to the front and pointing his lance at you. You only see his eyes, nose and beard.

"Yoe of Methiant!" The man booms. "Traitor and a backstabber! For once behave like a man and face me, King Alalkan!" You've heard stories that in his youth Alalkan of Parsia preferred civil talk and diplomatic solutions over bloodshed, but nowadays, in his middle age, he seems more than eager to stab your guts out.

You decide to...

A) HELP ALALKAN DIE WITH HONOUR!!!
B) Ask one of your soldiers to shoot the fool down, for he has exposed face.
C) Order your men into the melee. There will be no duels!

You two clash and you fail to do much than pry open one of the steel plates.

You feel however that your own armor has been pierced, and so was your body! Pain rings in your ears as you feel the tunic underneath the mail to get wet from your blood.

But there's no stopping now, Alalkan's turning his armored horse around for another pass!

This time, however, you triumph! The sword strikes deep into Alalkan's armored collar, and he falls off his horse, producing a truly monstrous crash when his body hits the dirt. The Cataphracts, seeing their leader lifeless on the ground, are thrown into chaos, and many of the rout while few take charge against your men, who, invigorated by your spectacular victory, charge them and mow them down easily. So much for their fabled courage and invicibility!

However, once the adrenaline wears off a bit, you feel terrible numbness in your body. Only then you notice that your pants, on the right side, are stained with blood, which is even dripping down onto the road. The lance must've struck deeper than you've thought! You barely will yourself into not collapsing.
