After an hour of deciphering the old script, you finally understand what this is. A book for summoning someone! The schematics and proceedings are craftily obscured to appear as a simple worship book for some crazy lunatics.

The ritual is very intricate, for it calls for a moon-less night, and sacrifice of 'most precious of bloods', and after the sacrifice, there is an hour long chant as one draws a circle, a triangle and four arrows with the blood, which must not be spilled nor mixed with another. The ritual thus calls for precision and skill, but you still do not know the meaning behind the initials, nor who the Prince of Glory is supposed to be. Pantheonist god? Ancient undead royal? Monstrous abomination?

A) Eurgh, blood sacrifices and such? I must get rid of this vile book!
B) Not only an ancient manuscript, but ancient book of mystical stuff? Ka-ching!
C) I must study this more. There's so much to discover here!

Most precious could just mean 'royal blood' rather than blood that is 'most precious' to us. "which must not be spilled nor mixed with another" makes it sound like the victim needs to be a virgin, and Unremarkable McExpendable is getting married next year, so if he still is a virgin, that window is certainly closing fast.

Anyway, with our Wisdom the lowest we can roll fucking with the book is a 3, so I doubt there is any harm in C.
