I see your point, but honestly I'm afraid we are vulnerable now and feel we should end the war and get our troops home ASAP. The bulk of our forces are busy in Parsia, we have already called upon both our vassal and our emergency reserves, and our ally is busy recovering from their own war. If somebody were to attack us now, we might be genuinely fucked.

If we can't break this young man in the next day or two, I'll reluctantly vote to just toss him into the dungeon and annex the land to bring this episode to an end.

Like Weirdsound, I don't see our "advantage" as being all that great at the moment – our army winning this war does not guarantee successful rolls in the future.

Those who were talking beforehand made a plan to divide it into two or more parts and taking both as vassals. Well, Parsian pride and honor (and surely the son of Cyl understands pride and honor) won't let them accept vassalage today. In my view the choice is now whether to accept a decent-if-not-everything-we-wanted-on-a-platter offer or to insist on gobbling whole that which earlier seemed too large to swallow.

I was ready to accept the counter offer yesterday and I still am:

• We regain former Ceodwell and undisputed claim on the gold mines.
• Mad Zealot Manipur is deposed and Parsia signs a treaty of non-aggression. Some advise against trusting them, but there are always meta reasons to distrust. Alalkan is at this point the indisputable heir and by all accounts he likes us.
• Religious freedom in Parsia, making the rise of future Mad Zealots more difficult and encouraging cultural interchange and trade.
• The above like contrasted against Cydwyl's recent behavior makes me think some kind of peaceful absorption may be more possible in the east than the north during Yoe III's reign.
• (Meta) We already rolled to renegotiate, and it failed. Suck it up.

Why? Without more explanation, it sounds like the same stubbornness that got Cyl into three separate wars in Eval, not long after which they still ended up with home rule. Is constant warfare better than peace with tributes?

Edit: Forgot religion in my list of benefits.

Yeah, Eval ended up with home rule, but under the imperial banner. The deal with Parsia has no such concession regarding such a detail. Unless in Acquises to such a clause, I seen no reason to agree to any other part of a peace treaty.
