I wish dorfs stuck in trees would generate a pathing-error message like "Stuck in a tree! HELP!!"...
Not much point since dorfs climb down by themselves now.
Unless you've seen dorfs still starving to death in trees since the bugfix?

Haven't seen dorfs stuck in trees, but I wasn't getting my dwarven caravan one year, and after some investigating I found two human caravan guards up in a tree...
They must have been sitting up there for half a year before I "kindly" helped them down(needed to cut the tree down).

DFHack has a script to warn you when any of your dwarves are stuck: warn-starving.

It was added back in 2015 and predates OP's original complaint by two years.
