That is an old poll, for when we met new friends.

You walk to The Spicy Olive and no one has kicked you in the face yet. This disguise might actually be working! You get some xp in Disguise.

You hear some commotion on the other side of the door. You take a peek.

This is the most people you have seen in one spot since you left The Caves. There are dwarves eating and drinking while a human performer sings and dances. Seeing food makes you realize how hungry you are.

What do you do?

Forget completely what we were doing here in the first place, and refuse to scroll back up in the thread do not even try to remember, instead use engraving/art to request roasts.

Offer carvings of food for actual food. And if that doesn't work carve some counterfeit currency and use that.

Be sure to scoot on your way over to the bar.

Ooh!  Ooh!

Yeah.

(Them folks we met were never our real reason for coming here, and they may be dead by now.  And anyway, when a forum game has some gaps in it, getting bogged down over such plot when you could be having madcap adventures can take away the fun.)

Restrain urge to doff hat when meeting people, as its location securely atop the head may be essential to disguise.

Find the most depraved looking soul, as they are probably the most likely to tolerate your presence, and try to weed some information out of them. It would be preferable if they weren't of the three main races.

Begin playing along to the human bard's singing and dancing as if you were a travelling duet and you are just now arriving - but make it different enough so that the human bard doesn't know you're using him as cover.  Then accept tips from the dwarves in the form of rum, black out, and wake up back with the bear-man somehow.  But your disguise is still complete so you're pretty sure nothing happened.  But still, you don't really know where in the fortress you are anymore.

You scoot toward the bar while keeping a hold of your hat. While scooting you over hear an argument between two dwarves.

"-or it's straight to the fight arena with you."

The other dwarf groans. He says something but you can't quite make out the words.

What surface should you carve?

What surface should you carve?
Getting right to the important questions I see.

It would be preferable if you could find some kind of flatish stone to carve, as you'll probably get your teeth knocked in if you carve a wall or a table or something else of any remote value.

But, to prove that you are a friend of dwarves and respectful of their culture, carve a large cheese into the most public wall-spot you can find.
