The homestuck reference will make an interesting research subject when we can afford to research not-food.
The imperfectly generic item is a Starbound refererence.

"Darn. . .  That looked tasty.

Look into the water, Maybe I can see what happened to the creature. . . .  And if there are creatures living in the cave, maybe there are some in the water. (search for fish food)
Research housing again

Aprima 2, Y1
Food Status:
(Upkeep/Stored/Rationed/Planted)
5/18/0/0
3 DAYS LEFT!

Jiu decides to swim into the lake to retrieve the corpse.

+1 Biper Corpse retrieved.

Books goes foraging at E7, getting two more smack fruits, and grabs a fish out of the river on E8.

Grey heads to F7 and goes foraging. She finds a branch from the giant tree, that came to F7 from a storm, before getting interrupted by a meter-tall blue lizard-like creature, before she swings the branch, leaving softened up prey.

Bernard continues foraging, and gets 2 more Smack Fruits.

Vigil searches for fish, and grabs another dark yellow fish.

Notes - Corpses: When a corpse is recovered, it won't automatically turn into meat and skin. You'll have to butcher it first, before the resources are gathered.

Notes - Meat: Your species does not come with food poisoning immunity. Eating raw meat deals 1 damage to you. Cooking the meat removes this penalty.

Also all 4 research topics are done.

Despite having completed essential research on food cultivation, Bernard had failed to do anything to improve foraging ability. He begins to try again. Bernard also recommends trying not to consume all of the Dawn Fruit. Its Mythical rating suggests that once its gone it may be gone for good and some day we may really want to make some kind of creature sentient.

Bernard moves from E6 to F6
Bernard forages at F6
Bernard designates Smack Fruit as the next food he intends to eat
Free Reseach Ability: Begin research on Gathering

Also: Question - How long is the lizard like creature? If its one meter tall and has the shape of a lizard, then it could be one meter tall and six meters long or something. Just figured I should ask that before one of us does something careless.

Butcher the fish and Bip and any other creatures brought to me.

((Biper is the plural. Bip is singular. A bip corpse. ))
((Do we get to know what our research did?))

Grey shouts in surprise, and smacks the lizard in the face with her branch again. She accidently names the lizard an "Oh Fuck!"
In the back of her head she changes her research to Basic Combat Techniques. (That is, how to throw a punch properly as opposed to flailing about at people)

The spreadsheet has a research tab. Its not very intuitive since you need to navigate to several other tabs to get all the details though. I'd recommend actually putting the details in the main game thread to make it easier to understand what they actually do.

You gotta get into a habit of updating sooner rather than later. If you update once every three days at the beginning your players will think they can wait two days before posting an action, and if that happens the game will suffer quite a bit. That is what happened to Dryad Rage I think.

For now, I think you should try to get an update done each day while the game is still simple, and learn some techniques to make future updates easier to do. (There is a reason that the new dryad rage map tiles are on the very opposite ends of the map).
