Turn 8: Knives and Good Ideas

INIT:
Glass/Ash Hong(45)
DoctorMcTaalik/DrM(68)
OceanSoul/Blue(6)
Yottawhat/Curtis(68)
Mallos/Ckaeyod(2)
NAV/Dave Blade(56)

This round, aggression came first. At roughly the same time, Curtis and DrM attacked.

Slam my shield down onto Blue's hand.

Slam!(2) vs. Hand Escape!(3-1=2)

Curtis took his shield and brought it down onto Blue's hand... very slowly. Blue moved his hand out of the way very slowly. Perhaps the fight was getting to them.

Spoiler: DrM (click to show/hide)

Dinosaur Throw!(5) vs. Dodge That!(4)

JrM as DrM called him was a dinosaur sling, not a bolo. It didn't change the fact that DrM threw him exceedingly well and he hit.

Dinosaur Tangle!(3) vs. Don't Get Tangled!(1)

The sling dinosaur that was JrM promptly... well, it wasn't a tangle. It was more like a fruitless bite. At least he still hung on Ckaeyod and would probably continue tangling him up next turn. Only the weight of JrM was going to impede Ckaeyod's dodging, however.

My Precious!(6) vs. No, My Precious!(3-1=2)

Before Ckaeyod could retaliate with a gunshot, DrM rushed forwards and snatched the revolver that Ckaeyod planned to use out of his hand...

Trip Luck!(5)

Before tripping and landing on his face, but rolling to his feet.

Meanwhile, Dave Blade was testing his magical wine powers.

Chug, and test the power some more, carefully and mysteriousecretly.
Keep the bottle.

In secret.

Ash Hong felt a little weak with only a mysterious apple to protect himself.

Knapp some rocks together into knives.

Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode 101!(4)

Ash Hong gathered together some rocks, started hitting them against each other... and wound up with sharpened rocks. Knives they were not, but perhaps they could be used as a weapon.

Meanwhile, Blue was feeling vulnerable...

Obtain closest knives, and be ready to defend self.

Yes!(4)

Blue scrabbled across the pit floor and grabbed the two knives that were on the floor.

Maybe now he would be ready for Curtis' impending attack.

Finally, the stunned Ckaeyod realized he needed a weapon.

Spoiler: GM Only (click to show/hide)

Arming Myself!(6+1=7)

In an extremely dramatic manner, Ckaeyod, with a dinosaur hanging onto him, reached down, grabbed the knife in Derm's neck, and ripped it out.

It was surely very intimidating.

Don't Be Afraid!(6)

Maybe DrM would have been afraid if not for the fact that there was a mini dinosaur hanging off Ckaeyod. As it was, it was funny. Too funny. DrM choked with laughter.

Ckaeyod realized, meanwhile, that he had blood in his eyes.

Try to make a stone axe.
And I'd been thinking more of Terrafirmacraft... I don't actually have DF.

EDIT: It's kinda been a while by now, hasn't it? Getting a bit hungry. Take a bite out of the apple. If that doesn't seem like it does anything, eat the rest of it.
If something happens, it's secret, because I'm really far from everyone else.

Would "be ready to counter any attacks that come my way" be a viable action? If not, double-stab the closest person.

Work on a potential forum game for my return to Bay12. Figure out parts that puzzled me before. Find more things to figure out that I can't. Work on another game instead of solving them. Get distracted and stop working. Remember it a week or two later. Remember I'm still on hiatus. Illogically, Be too ashamed to return yet. Repeat ad nauseam.

Finally have a game completely ready. Wait a week before posting it out of laziness.

Test unknown ability one more time. Very secretly.

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."

WAITLIST D PLEASE
Flabort (at age 100)
This incarnation of me is one of the youngest. He hasn't become undead yet, but HAS been using dark magic to bolster his body. So he's incredibly wrinkled and pale, wearing robes blacker than what most other mages thought possible that cover all but his twisted grin, his eyes full of evil fire, and his bony hands.

Turn 9: Bad Turn Name

INIT:
Glass/Ash Hong(80)
DoctorMcTaalik/DrM(98-10(laughter)=88)
OceanSoul/Blue(94)
Yottawhat/Curtis(51)
Mallos/Ckaeyod(19)
NAV/Dave Blade(27)

DrM would have gone first, but he was still busy choking with laughter. As such, Blue was actually the first to act.

Would "be ready to counter any attacks that come my way" be a viable action? If not, double-stab the closest person.

Blue decided lying down was counterproductive to being ready to counterattack, and as such, he stood up on a painful ankle and held up his knives.

DrM finished laughing, then got practical.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Boom, Gunshot!(3) vs. Dodge!(4-1=3)

It was a horribly inaccurate gunshot and a horribly slow dodge. (Coinflip! Ckaeyod)

In the end, though, Ckaeyod managed to work his way around the bullet.

Meanwhile, Ash Hong decided to finally bite the bullet...er... apple.

Knapping!(1)

Ash Hong grabbed one of his twigs and a sharpened rock, and put them together. He then let go.

Foot Dodge!(2)

The sharpened rock fell and hit his foot. It didn't look very good. Ash Hong promptly reflexively flailed his leg around.

Perhaps hoping that the apple would heal him, Ash Hong took a bite out of it. Nothing seemed to immediately happen, so Ash Hong finished it. But lo, the only one to know what was up with the apple now was Ash Hong himself.

Before Ckaeyod and Dave Blade did their things, Curtis... did nothing.

"Wait.  Just wait a second man.  We've been fighting for like, ten minutes and neither of us are getting anywhere. Let's just take a moment and think this through."

Blue didn't answer... yet.

Next was Dave Blade.

Test unknown ability one more time. Very secretly.

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."

then
Spoiler: GM only (click to show/hide)

Stealth(1)

Dave Blade crept towards the center circle, aiming to do something only he knew. Then he tripped on a pill bug.

Critical Stealth Failure!(5)

While the noise he made gave him away, he managed to roll and take no damage, and get behind cover(a standing stone) as well. No 1? Shame. I wanted to see him roll into Blue and Curtis' pit.

Finally, Ckaeyod got violent.

"The Shining One is watching over me. It's time to judge you, heretic."

Spoiler: GM Only (click to show/hide)

The weight of the dinosaur did not inconvenience him as he charged DrM with his kukri.

Slashy Slashy!(4-1=3) vs. Dodge Slashy Slashy!(5)

Ckaeyod's slash was reduced in accuracy by the blood in his eyes, but even without that he would have missed.

Tangle!(6)

Suddenly, Ckaeyod realized that the limbs of the dino-sling were getting more and more tangled around him. On the plus side, it was protecting him from harm. Maybe.
