Yeah, some sort of weapon design now. I'll support the ABR-1.

For the revision, I think we should improve our Fusion Reactor, to prep us for Fusion Drives, Fusion Bombs, Fusion EMPs, the works.

On another note, potential cheap fusion power could be a good selling point for the Production Credit. The downside being that if they go to Moerth instead Moerth will learn about our fusion reactor.

Whelp, we presumably cut them off just as much as they cut us off. And given their embarrasing lack of technology, I am suspicious of what compelled them to be so aggressive.
C.S. D.F.A. "Perversion Personified"
A shuttle, with storage capacity replaced with ammunition storage and missile ports along the side. We give up on complex missile ports and just leave the whole thing unpressurised, our crews can use space suits, we can even give them air-lines if they want to feel special... Although to prevent internal depressurisation during difficult launch periods we only depressurise the cargo slowly after leaving the atmosphere, storing as much of the air as possible.

The missiles themselves use primitive thermal guidance and a warhead based upon combining the fuel and exygen elements of our fuel, getting something similar to thermite which will make a mess of a hull and produce enough radiant heat to be a problem for personnel even if it fails to splash... The steering is pretty primitive, it is advised to use it only against shuttles from behind them, or when they are in limited manoeuvres such as atmospheric transitions or orbits, but missile spam should serve well enough in desperation. Mostly this will serve as a support vessel by bombarding ground targets, at which point the dubious aiming is less of an issue. Note that due to their dedicated combat role, missiles do not need space for long-voyage fuel storage, crew and life-support, storage and maintenance spaces, various other things like that, so they are still optimised to out-perform our own shuttles in terms of turning and thrust, provided that the guidance chooses to work that day...

Hump-thumper Torpedoes
We continued work on the miniaturisation of the fusion generator, and built a shuttle around it. This shuttle can be flown at an enemy target and overloaded...

Because we need to salvage something from this disaster...

Remember that we potentially have all the technology on earth today, so I don't think a good tank or decent missles would be too much to design for. We do have a fusion plant that actually produces energy and will blow up at the drop of a hat so I feel that we can be ambitious.

Hrmm, yes, ambitious, like an automatic rifle. using gun technology that we apparently weren't using for some reason. Rather than the boring old shuttle technology that would only drop a pathetic rain of missiles.

We're going to need more than one turn to get missiles working. We could do missiles, or a missile launcher, but two in one turn?

I'm all for the suicide bombing fusion shuttle, though. Not too much of a revision, hopefully.

Miniaturising the fusion plant is a very dubious prospect. It is extremely new technology. The missiles are deliberately simple. The individual components are somewhat numerous, but the only really new thing amongst them is the guidance.

Hehe okay yeah that sounds plenty ambitious to me. Changing my vote to the rickety flying deathtrap of missiles.

The ABR-1 will be locked in fairly soon if there's no change in votes.

Popping a vote onto mine to give it a chance, because such is what the gods demand. But ats the late-runner it probably deserves second-place if I can't get another vote...

Design: ABR-1
6, 5-1, 4

After seeing our troops in the field suffer as a result of their lackluster weapons, we began work on the ABR-1. The design is built from the ground up to be a reliable and effective weapon. Each part is designed by Amaok engineers and the ammunition is our own, not some standard 3D-printed caliber from earth.

The ABR-1 is a long-range weapon; a battle rifle. It should fare well in all scenarios but it will excel at long range. Central Command is already planning the creation of what are effectively snipers in the Units. It's least effective in close-range situations, but is still superior to the pistol.
Accuracy-wise, the ABR-1 is astounding. Amaok designs give the weapon unparalleled accuracy, easily beating the Printed Pistol.

The ABR-1 was specifically designed to best the armor of our opponents, and it does so easily. Thanks to the rifle's design and the ammunition designed specifically for it, our soldiers can now reliably and easily eliminate enemy troops regardless of their armor.

The biggest flaw in the design is also its ammunition, however. Despite its effectiveness, we simply can't make enough ammunition. We can still equip the designated max amount of units, but our soldiers can't individually be sent enough ammo. Therefore, every soldier should still be equipped with printed pistols as ammo will quickly run out in the field, forcing our soldiers to abandon the rifle until eventually more ammo is acquired.

In order to reach the level of quality desired for this design, we're forced to make use of our limited manufacturing capabilities instead of 3D printing. As such, we won't be able to manufacture enough of the rifle and its ammunition to equip all our units.

ABR-1
Weight: 1 CU = 4x
Expense: 4x
Resources: Metal

It is now the Revision Phase of 2207.

Revision: Working Fusion

Get the main fusion plant to work correctly and efficiently so that we get a full grasp of all the principles behind making a fusion reactor.

Probably.

Now here's two revisions. A safe one, and a risky one.

Handheld Radio: A greatly miniaturized version of our radios. These won't work for cross-planet communications, but they'll certainly help out at a local level.

Fusion Bomb: A greatly miniaturized and refined version of our Fusion Reactor. After activation and warm-up-time(that can be selected by our troops), it goes out in a rather large anti-electronics headache-inducing explosion.
