Description: A short, stout man in his early 40s with an unassuming appearance, more akin to a farmer than a soldier of four armies and two wars. His accent is rather odd, the closest description being 'some sort of Scandinavian accent'. Joakim is also scarred across his arms and hands from battles he has already participated in, as well as various battle wounds.

Joakim Heikki was born to Finnish parents in Germany, who immigrated in their desire for a better life, which was ironically crushed in the outbreak of the First World War. Joakim, 16 at the time, was drafted into the Deutsches Heer despite his age due to the suffering manpower as the Triple Alliance's forces began to cave and Germany, as some said, was "almost empty". Heikki served for the last two years of the First World War on the Western Front, being awarded the Iron Cross among many others for serving with distinction. Upon the abdication of the Kaiser and then the subsequent armistice that ended the war, the Heikki family emigrated to their native Finland with their son, leaving the destroyed German state that they once sought to make a living in. Heikki then proceeded to make an earnest living as a lumberjack and woodworker in the Finnish forests. Of course, twenty years later, the Second World War broke out and the Soviets invaded Finland, initiating the Winter War. Heikki was drafted into the Finnish Maavoimat, placed in charge of a unit due to being a veteran and served against the Soviets, again with distinction but this time without award, until the end of the Winter War.

Upon the end of the Winter War, the Wehrmacht grabbed Heikki and several other skilled Finnish soldiers to create Detachment Hayha, a special unit of Winter War veterans with experience against the Soviets in battle, once more proving his skill in battle and even spending half a year in a Soviet POW camp before escaping in a daring escape across enemy lines to rejoin the unit. Eventually disgusted with the atrocities that both sides committed, Heikki silently fled the Wehrmacht and made his way to America to forge a new life for himself, changing his name to Joe Henry and working in Boston as a carpenter. Of course, unable to sit tight in comfort after what he had witnessed on the Eastern Front, Heikki eventually enlisted into the US Army, whereupon several old mates of his from Finland immediately identified him both as a former soldier of the Deutsches Heer and Maavoimat and by a freak coincidence, another deserter from Detachment Hayha identified him immediately as a deserter from the same unit, whereupon he was immediately shunted to the 888th Brigade due to his long experience in battle.
