I was looking over the mission, and noticed this:
And since apparently no one has a flashlight in this stupid corps, all the group can do is stand and wait for their eyes to adjust.

But a while ago, I asked this:
((Also, can we assume that we have some fluff items, like these: https://www.amazon.com/D-Day-Signaling-Cricket-Clicker-Clacker/dp/B004FZXODG, or flashlights, or other non-stat related type things?))
If its in standard kits than yeah. Flash lights, clickers, etc. I may have to update the universal pack so if there are any historically correct additions you'd like, lemme know about them.
So, can we assume that we have mundane gear like flashlights as part of the universal pack, Piecewise?

Respectfully taking one of the knives out of the 'collection of knives' from whichever teammate we are looting from.
How much for a Ghillie suit?
Also, why the heck do people have dog tags? I thought those were frowned on in the 888th?
Also, may as well get the uniform washed and pressed. want ot look my Nazi best next time I have to be in disguise

boy, keeping track of my class equipment is tricky, since Ed is an obsolete class, and one of a kind.
Guess I better drop the helmet, since it's no longer part of the universal equipment set.

Spoiler: Edward Bohring (click to show/hide)

Suit would be like 150 and add +1 to disguise rolls.

So how many clips can I get with 25 glory then?
For a pistol? 5.

How much risk does Simon's MG 15 have?
How many rounds have to be spent for each +1?
How much glory for another magazine (hoping it's 5, it'd be nice for "spare mag" to always just be 5...).
If someone buys a second helmet, can they put it on after getting the first shot off, for an immediate +1 life heal?

Also, Simon's buying two smoke grenades.

1 and 2. 3 +1 for every 5 rounds fired in a burst.
3. Lets go with 5 for MOST guns. Unless its something special.
4. I'm gonna say no. No carrying 10 helmets and being helmet based iron man.

Maybe something like half the glory reward to those who died? It incentivizes surviving, and means that the guy who accidentally trips and falls on his trench knife at the beginning of the mission, or the guy who decides to juggle satchel charges doesn't get rewarded for that?

Also, piecewise, if someone does something crazy that doesn't have a medal explicitly made for it yet, will you make up a new medal?
And, maybe put in a promotion that has to do with vehicle use? Though I'm not exactly how that would work. . . maybe a personal vehicle, or special training or something that helps with using vehicles they are unfamiliar with. I don't know, but it seems like something that someone might want to focus on.

Probably, yeah. Like I said, I'll keep adding more as I think of them.
I had a promotion for vehicle use but it got scrapped. I'm trying to come up with another one. A personal vehicle might be a good choice. Little autogyro for pilots, motorcycle for drivers and...hmmm Well jetskis weren't invented yet but they came into existence in the mid 1950's so I can probably fudge it.

Late to the Glory party, but how much would it cost to get a single BAR magazine with either incendiary rounds, AP, or high explosive? (Tracer might be interesting too, but not as important)

Also, I know Cronos, so I'll tell him about the glory offer if you want?
Morphine Adventures sounds like it might be a good title for some mission in the future.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Had to do a little research to make sure they even had those kinds of rounds for the BAR, but they did. I would say that for a special magazine, it would depend on what it does. Incendiary would cost like 10, explosive like 40 since you are basically firing tiny grenades

Yes, assume you have a flashlight.

So. . . uh, actually, I don't think we'd find an HE 30-06 rounds, unless they were custom made? (I for some reason was thinking the BAR fired .50 cal bullets, which would have been more likely to find in HE varieties) The video clip involves shooting a tannerite target.

How about AP round mags? . . . or, how much would it be to switch out the BAR for a BMG

Oooh.  Are explosive rounds in 888th so powerful that the AoE could kill multiple people?  It wouldn't exactly be realistic, but I'd totally buy a clip of exp rounds for the Springfield if they're that strong...

If I bought a 5-round clip of 30-06 for my Springfield, would it be cheaper than the 20-round BAR mag?  If not, could I buy the BAR mag and just unload the bullets, for the same effect?  Sorry...

Edit: If I attached a scope to an MG and fired it semi-automatically, would that roll on scoped rifle rather than machinegun, like with the Gewehr?

HE 30-06 rounds are not very realistic, incendiary or AP is another story however. Such rounds would be used by specialists, such as machine gunners or snipers, in certain circumstances, so a commando force like the 888th could have a few. However, we have nazi lightning guns, so I doubt realism is much of a concern. (I personally dislike the idea of HE rifle rounds though. Too small to hold a decent fuse and a large enough charge to really matter.)

However, it would not be improbable to get HE rounds for a anti-tank rifle, IIRC the Swedes had a fairly nice 20mm one in WWII...

(FYI: I have a few WWII vintage 8mm Mauser incendiary rounds in the basement somewhere, they don't gush fire or anything like that, they simply get very, very hot when fired)

Part of why I was curious whether getting an actual BMG was an option, because that would be a bit more realistic for getting HE rounds. Also, it's a machinegun. And I've got a skill in machineguns. And it shoots .50 cal. Which is fun. Wonder if you fire single shots with it, instead of full auto. . .

Using a Browning M2 on single fire makes for a highly effective sniper rifle---the US experimented with that quite a bit during what, Vietnam?

That's part of why I was curious. I didn't know if they'd done it, but just due to it's mass, I was thinking a .50 cal would be pretty accurate at range if you could use only a single shot.

Gonna bet that using a .50 cal on single shot will use heavy rifle skill rather than machinegun skill if PW is sane. Which he's not, but you get the point.

Darn. Well, it doesn't matter much. My main goal was to be able to hit things from really far away with incendiary ammunition. And, I'm perfectly fine with sending 50 bullets that way rather than 1 so long as at least one hits the target.
