B
It's best if we can out range them if need be. The revolt will be mostly urban fighting. Should be relatively close quarters. Close range is all they need. I don't want them to be on the level afterwards though. Just in case.

Technically Option B should be the MP7; the P90 isn't use by Australia at all.

Anyway, A

I acknowledge this point. However, the P90 is so iconic to Stargate I couldn't bear to go without it. I have sort of tried to match the other stuff, but, well, realism has to take its licks sometimes.

C, unless we want to wander off to other designs intended to do the same thing and get them something else along the same lines. The AK-74 or the AR-180, for instance.

We shouldn't want to be on the same level of weaponry as them, lest they turn on us.

You finalize the order for 70 refurbished soviet rifles, plus ammunition. You're pretty sure they've been sitting around somewhere collecting dust for at least a decade, but they're Kalashnikovs- they could have been at the bottom of a swamp for at least a decade and they'd still function. They're cheap, and your high-ups probably won't breathe down your neck too hard for supplying them to natives.

Slightly Later Mid-October, 2017, because there's still shit to do!

You're going over the upcoming raid with your tactical team leaders, discussing what resources they do and do not need, and going over potential tactics and methods of coordination with the rioters.  Several, rather important, questions come up as a result of the discussion.

The team leaders want to know, exactly, what the scope of their mission is, and, rather critically, what their stance on prisoners is going to be.

As for Mission Scope...
A- Straight rescue. Use the revolt as cover and blitz your way to the hostages. Bug out as soon as you have them. The revolt can continue as it wishes from there.
B- Smash and grab. As above, except find and capture the radiation source that initiated this whole debacle in addition to grabbing the prisoners.
C- Occupy and Overthrow. Assist the revolt in overthrowing whatever existing power structure is in place, then sit tight and work with the locals with this 'God-King' problem.

As for Prisoners...
A- Disable when possible. We'd really love some prisoners to interrogate or exchange later on.
B- If they surrender, take them, but don't endanger yourself or go out of your way to get a prisoner.
C- Technically, these fellas are not covered by war crime conventions. If they surrender, shoot 'em in the head. Or the heart actually, that's a bit more poetic.

BB

We need to be conservative. We got too cocky last time. This is also a sizing up of their forces. We can rescue our prisoners, get some loot, and maybe even some prisoners of our own. If all goes well, we weaken them and can strike again later.
If we try to capture it, then chances are our forces are wiped out and we're left worse off than when we started.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

+1. What better way to actually capture that demigod than to have it waltz right into lands controlled by us without suspecting a thing!

B, B.
With the first "B" having the secondary objective of getting the energy source, 'if you can' being emphasized.

Because I'm under the assumption that those energy stuffs are gifts from alien aliens, compared to these aliens. Y'know the whole overlord thing?
That may be the demigod. :P

Just a 'governor' alien.
