Hmm?... So I did. Woops. I missed that somehow. Fixed now. (Although Olith got it so it's irrelevant.)

Is the dustbiter carrier capable?
Is the Hammer? How?

It wasn't a "Gotcha" question, kot.  I was legitimately curious.  It's smaller than the Hammer, so I was wondering if it could be launched off carriers to obsolete the Haast

Unlikely given our current carriers. We would need a bigger, more efficient carrier to even consider trying to launch these from one. The hammer especially given it's larger size.

The Hammer wasn't meant to be carrier capable.  I was asking if the Dustbiter was :(

Not everything I say is necessarily a hostile question, guys.

I'm not taking it as a hostile question; we've got a carrier which was designed with just propeller aircraft in mind, not jets.

Remember to always use the latest vote box! ;)

It looks like the votes here still aren't stable, so I'll probably wait a couple hours, or maybe overnight, to do the design.

Wasn't the Z-carrier designed specifically to make use of jets when those were designed?

Revision: F.R.A.C
The Forenian Reticulated Aircraft Carrier is not a single ship, but a modification to our existing Zhenogorod Zhelezgorod Z-carriers. It's a set of clamps and a short runway extension at the front and back of the ship. With this, we can connect multiple Z-carriers in series, creating a longer runway for our jet bombers to take off and fight the battle at sea.

Not ones like the VVF and dustbiter, no. Those I'd presume are too large to fit onto the Z-Class, never mind launching from them.

If we want a carrier capable bomber... no, we will probably just need to make a seaplane.
I know you will all reeeeeeeee at the idea, but I think this is the closest we will be able to get and still have useful carrier capable plane. The old memes were memes mainly because we didin't have technology for it, but now we have working jet engines and whatnot. Something like this. It carries 14 tons (which is somewhat small payload for what a lot of people want, but remember we now have something that's "almost" carrier capable (before you ask - carriers should already have a set of nice cranes with them, so it shouldn't be a problem really), and the only real difficulty problem I can see is the rotating bomb bay which needs to be sealed against water - everything else is just making a plane with a ship-shaped lower hull.

At Zan's urging, the Hammer now includes a radar altimeter for NOE flight.

UF-DRR-45 Death-Ray Reflector

By welding metal plates together in a triangular arrangement, a so called "corner reflector" can be made that is highly reflective of radar signals. So much so, that a reflector only 1.5 meters on edge looks like a ship on a radar screen. These may be deployed on a buoy, and optionally stacked to simulate an even larger ship. A smaller model may be deployed on land to simulate a tank. With any luck, an inbound missile will lock onto a nearby reflector, rather than something important. They can be used to confuse enemy intel too.
