Stupid logic.  But we better do an ASM next turn or I swear the PAROI Party burns the parliament building down again.

B. Steal the Cannalans' missile with this turn's revision, and use it to make a good anti-shipping missile next turn, leaving us AHEAD of the Cannalans in missile tech and action economy (one revision + one design instead of 3 designs or so and who knows how many revisions. Also, we'd likely be able to reuse their infrared tracking tech to attack their tanks and their fancy jet and whatnot with just another revision, so more like 2 missiles for a design and two revisions)
Stupid logic.  But we better do an ASM next turn or I swear the PAROI Party burns the parliament building down again.
Plus, umm, something that exceeds numerical values...

I think Madman has a point. Even if we don't get a usable missile out of it, a reverse-engineering revision would give us as much if not more experience than a design. Action economy is king, don't'cha'know.

Do we actually learn from failed attempts at stealing tech?  It also kinda seems like we are likely to get an acutally functioning heat seeker in addition to the ASM if we do the ASM this turn.

There's no accounting for bad rolls, man.  If we get our sixth 2 in a row this turn, we can play "what if" all we want.

If we roll decently for the first time in six attempts, then we get a new technology (that neither we nor Cannala have) and an actual decent DD.  If we roll badly, then...oh well.  Didn't really matter anyways.

Its rather a lot of RND to pick up in one revision even if we do roll well, it seems like.

I'm not really happy with the Arbalest.

I mean, it's basically a Cataphract with a few less guns, a few more torpedoes and a sonar.

And with one of the guns being... awkwardly placed between smokestacks, I can't help but feel it could use a bit of finetuning.

Where would you suggest placing it? Amidship turrets had targeting solutions when angled at least 15 degrees.  I mean, I guess we could place it on the bow, but at that point the turret is sticking out of the ship kinda awkwardly.

It's pretty much a copy of the Fletcher, which is one of the last WWII Destroyers before everything became about missiles.  It could always be replaced by an ASM launcher later >_>

It wasn't until the mitscher class that they were able to do missile destroyer refits, and it weighed a full 80% more than the fletcher.
