They can't sink the Archer if they can't hit it because it is are able to fire from outside their range.

Range isn't an issue for their torpedo boats. Besides, with only two guns in the first place the Archer is underarmed as well.

Well, its intended goal was harassment from range rather than slugging it out like it is currently doing.  Besides, as I said, it could be a test bed to see how much an escort might actually do.  If it results in some improvement, then that means a true escort could do a lot of good.  If there is nominal to no improvement, that means a true escort wouldn't do anything for us.

Archer has 4 Bumblebee guns.
Two of those are AA.

And Zan, a bigger escort, and one that is more survivable, is required. Destroyers and light cruisers make neither obsolete.

Not seeing that in the description. Afaik, any GM description has always indicated that all 4 guns can hit ships.

It is likely that is due to the guns in the turrets also being bumblebees.  If we had the 130mm upgrade, the two in the turrets would be changed to 130 while the other two remain the same.

And Zan, a bigger escort, and one that is more survivable, is required. Destroyers and light cruisers make neither obsolete.

Again, test bed.  Besides, the revision is also to give us an autoloader so whether or not the testbed turns out fine, we get that tech as well, allowing for instant implementation upon the escort if sea proves viable.  Even if it doesn't, we have the tech and can put it into a tank.

Early proposal for an ekranoplane, likely extremely faulty.
If we go this route, we probably want to revise a proper naval torpedo, with longer range and bigger warhead.

AS-GEP-41 "Ekaterina
If we can't win by boat, we will by plane.
We need an effective way of deploying our superior torpedo tech, in a way that will not get shot down. Ships, we are not good enough. Therefore, we need magic also known as planes.

This plane, powered by 2 turboprop engines, has short stubby wings. Rather than flying, it uses ground effect to cruise just slightly above water level, allowing it to have much greater speed than a boat but also greater carrying capacity and engine efficiency than an airplane of its size.
Its role is meant to be that of a fast torpedo bomber, carrying a load of 3 tons of ordnance. it has a single AC-18 for self defense
It also uses a bathtub to protect the pilot cabin, self sealing tanks and all the general aircraft improvements we know of.

I believe that those are meant to be self-sealing tanks. But if you can have them spontaneously generate fuel from the air then I am all in favour of that! Regardless, I am currently glaring menacingly at the "strategy phase" title and futilely waving my vote around while being unable to make it stick to anything. Feel free to add my name to this proposal when we leave the depths-of-silence phase.

Of course they are self fueling, we just use a magic circuit to summon...
what? this isn't wands race?
right, right. Self sealing. :P

thanks for the correction.

I still say that we should fund archaeological expeditions to dig up the fabled "cheat metal" and build jet-turbines out of it that are completely immune to temperature changes...
