Hm..., maybe they upgraded their buccaneer boats with turboshaft engines giving them more speed. I would do that.
Yeah, that what I am scared of, very fast, maybe even hydrofoil, would hit and run our carriers and we would be unable to do a lot against it.

I imagine a buccaneer would suffer hard from strafing runs though.

We could try for some sort of primitive A-10 thunderbolt by sticking a fortyish millimetre A.P. cannon on a haast...

Alright, alright. So how about next turn's design.

In the Discord, we were thinking (assuming we manage to take the Jungle) about a new carrier. Of which the specs should be:
-At least double the capacity for aircraft compared to the Wasp's Nest.
-A longer deck, so that even a loaded Haast can take off with no problems.
-Ie, about 50% bigger than the WN. (+1 Ore cost?)
-Probably a little bit of armour? Not huge amounts, but there's no need for this to be Cheap. (+1 Ore cost?)
-Just as fast as the WN- which means more/better engines. (+1 Oil cost?)
For a target cost of 6/3- which would be Expensive.

Possible additional features:
-A ski-jump ramp, to aid in take off.
-And/or a catapult, for the same reason.

Crazy idea (by Kot, to no one's surprise):
-Catamaran hull, to enable an angled deck without needing a HUGE ship.

I am not sure you can get that TC without a revision.

Ay Lmao. The red lines are catapults, and I think we could mount a gun or two (FOR WHATEVER REASON) on the secondary hull.

does it hurt to ask for it in the design?

Yes it does, in much the same way it hurt to ask for one tonne of bombs on a certain "fighter".

maybe not, as long as you make it clear that it is a variation of the ship which is low priority to design. After we achieve all carrier related goals, our engineers can try to strip it down if they have time.

But if they start designing it to be easily refittable as cargo, we may have problems.

This is what I was thinking, yeah.  It's a normal carrier, but the cargo variants are just "unfinished carriers".

Heh heh heh.
Just imagine the salt if we pulled that off.

If we capture the Jungle easily, I say we try it.

The Guano hates the anarchronistic catamaran.
The Guano likes the two-ship-hulls-held-together-by-hope-and-a-runway.

In words of our Glorious Sensei - a diesel locomotive with a propeller.
I overfucked with effects. I still have the unedited one, so it's salvageable, but eh. Now also in sepia.

A twin hull carrier would also be harder to sink. Just don't go sailing into Icebergs.
