Revamping engines, reshaping the entire ship, moving the conning tower, adding doors, and adding armor is too much for a revision.

So let's do the Quiver (The Archer ---> Lander one) because it's SIMPLE and LOGICAL and will have a MUCH higher chance of success.

Let's just get on the beaches, alright? If we get on the beaches on the Tundra, just once, we win by default. The Cannalan jet fighter will go Expensive, and they're going to get screwed in the air.

So let's ensure that that happens, alright?

Madman, while kot's proposal seems to add too many things, almost none of those are CV 22 specific. If you can turn the archer in a lander with simple action, you can do the same actions on the CV 22.
Size would be the only concern, but From conversation in discord it seems that the CV 22 is not bigger than the archer, but it already has an empty cargo hold ready for carrying stuff.

So, my goal here is the safest possible revision that actually lets us land, so that hopefully the difficulty wont go up and screw us over.  I think totally overhauling the AS-CV22 with modern propulsion and redistribution of the propulsion systems is asking for trouble.

Quote from: UF-LST22-42 "Wooden Spear"
A revised AS-CV22 with the draft of the bow reduced to be better suited to being beached safely.  The bow opens with two sealed landing doors and deploys a ramp.  The interior of the cargo ship is retrofitted to carry armored vehicles and infantry to be deployed out of the bow doors.  Doctrinally, during landings the deck will be loaded with land based weaponry to help support landing operations.  Basically this is intended as a way to facilitate the deployment of tanks during amphibious landings.

Sensei said, when madman asked about dimensions, "Ummm... smaller than archer or about the same size I think". it may be just the length, but still.

Good enough justifications have been made for me, so switching my vote to the Spear.

Only if it's named Wooden Sword.

Revamping engines
Just switch them to newer models from Archers or something.

reshaping the entire ship,
That would be the Archer. CV has cargo hold ready, Archer doesn't.

moving the conning tower
Are we? I always assumed it was more to the rear, due to the front cannon and rear MG on the top of the tower.

adding doors,
We need that.

and adding armor
I agree that it might be less neccessary, but it's more to make the rear heavy enough to raise the front so it will be capable of landings rather than to really armour it, and note that all the uneccessary things are "could", so depending on the roll they could be passed up in favour of more important design requirements.

Both ships are going to probably be very similar in difficulty. Archer requires more hull work to get it working, since battleships have things such as bulkheads, weird beams and whatnot, while CV has cargo hold ready. Both ships are similar in size, although CV is probably wider, which will be easier to adapt to a ramp, since it could be more of regular ramp instead of a bow opening to the sides.

A revised AS-CV22 with the draft of the bow reduced to be better suited to being beached safely.
The "draft to the bow" reduced is kinda stupid in itself, as you can't just make a ship have shallower draft - in this case we're making the front shallower and the rear deeper, simple balance really.

e: Flatten the bow a bit so it beaches better, move weight around where possible, et cetera.

e2: Also I mean, add a bit of ballast to the back so it would beach better potentially.

Design through Revision: UFN-LC-42 'Boxcar'

A simple box-shaped lander with a drop-down ramp on the front, the United Forenian Navy Landing Craft 1942 'Boxcar' is about as simple a lander as you can make.

Featuring a shallow draft to enable beaching, the Boxcar can carry a small group of soldiers or a single armored vehicle such as a tank.  The rear features an open drivers seat, a diesel motor, and a single Sorraia machine gun on a pintle mount.

If this is an Easy design, and doing things through revision is +1 difficulty, then this should be a Normal revision - right?

I am willing to vote for anything that uses the Vodka hull. It may have a deeper waterline than is traditionally preferred by the simple minds behind less emphatic landing craft, but there truly is no greater duty to be found than to ridicule the enemy design. We went to so much effort to acquire this lowly garbage, we must make full use of it!
