Aw man, that's disappointing :(

We can replace all their tech with our own, except in the one area where it actually benefits us.

Well, there is the torpedoes with Sarukhs replacement; I'm fairly certain that despite the Dolphins better firepower a rocket battery would be more usable at typical naval engagement ranges.

A rocket battery wouldn't be able to compete with the main guns or the DP bumblebee turrets, so we may as well scrap the torpedoes from the design entirely. The face of the cannalans when we've made the damn thing more survivable because we just left the torpedoes off.

If I didn't know what was involved in doing so, I'd recommend adding the twin-90mm Bumblebee DP guns from the Cataphract to serve the same purpose on this ship, replacing the torpedo launchers.

Well, we're already doing that with the old firecracker guns on board. The only thing we'd need to specifically replace would be the can shredder cannons since we don't have an AA gun of that sort of calibre.

What's the Can Shredder, the 30mm or whatever?

Yeah, the 30mm gun they have.

True... Just more Velociraptors for now then?

(Also the Can Shredder is a dual barrel 30mm, so I'm fairly certain the mounting can handle a higher caliber gun, but nowhere near a Bumblebee)

Since it's double barrel 30mm, we might be able to add two velociraptors per can shredder.

OK. Our Velociraptor fills that role, I'd say. Adding additional secondary guns never hurt anybody, however.

That said, maybe another autocannon AA nest, wherever there was a torpedo launcher?

The rocket batteries are because I want us to develop Radar-based anti-shipping missiles next turn, and having a rocket station aboard already makes it easier to install.

The rockets will likely have negligable effect right now.

Then just replace some AA guns (IF WE MAKE THE THING) and have additional functionality NOW instead of later.

To be fair, issue #1 is that said missiles will be bigger than our SARUKH rockets, which would warrant another refit (But one we could potentially include with the design...)

(And the AA gun attachment.... Did we even get any mention of them navally bombing us? Even when we were at air parity in the sea?)

That'd be a waste of a design turn eS and we'd full well know it. We'd be better off developing something else.

Hopefully we roll well on this Radar, it'd be nice to have it really small.  You can do some neat stuff with really small radar.
