So far, it looks like votes for Tereshkova as your general are overwhelming, and the only votes for a design are the torpedo.

Flag votes are pretty spread, still- anyone care to weigh in?

It looks like the sword and stars flag nuke voted for has the most votes at three so I will go ahead and give it four.
Also the torp and the air commander but, they already won.

We might want to reconfigure the boat we have now for a dedicated troop and armor transport.

Also we still have the fucking airstrip train.  A MOBILE LAND BASED AIRSTRIP.  WHY DID WE EVER MAKE THAT.

We want it so we can use it for Aircraft Carrier experience.

Edit: Did anyone notice Sensei used an angry face for the thread rather than the two papers?

We should develop a Destroyer before we develop an aircraft carrier.

1) It will give us experience in boat-craft.
2) It will defend our carriers.
3) They can lightly shell islands.
4) We basically have all the necessary components to build them - 100 mm Artillery, light AA, flak, and steam-powered boats.

that was the general idea of all previous discussions, yes. Destroyer, then carrier.
However, I will point out that our current boat uses a train engine which dates to the beginning of the century, so we really want to give our new boat a new, PROPER, naval engine.

speaking about plans that were discussed before game start, many of us were thinking about attempting radar next. The reason being that if we make it work, then we can try mounting it on our new ships.

Plus, getting that would push our air advantage to even greater levels, maybe to the point we are untouchable for a few turns.

one of our advantages in the air is that our aircrafts have radio in them, allowing great coordination. radar compounds on that, since we can use to communicate enemy position real time.

May I request that we name all our future designs rather than continuing the Arstotzkan tradition of letting a chicken with a keyboard name them?  "The Dolphin" is a great start, but I'd like it if we didn't have all our designs named like "AS-55A:7.1-80083-5_BA1100/November Standard-Issue Infantry Pistol"

we currently have a mix of both naming styles. If you like it, just call it "dolphin" and you will not be wrong. I will keep calling it UF-TPD-38 or TPD-38 when I want to be less formal. The Arstotzka naming style is useful, because i read that name and I immediately know "oh, it is a torpedo designed in 1938"

What should the new designation be? UF?

Also instead of an aircraft carrier, what if we just line a bunch of destroyers up in a row to act as a landing strip.

Yes: UF-TPD-38 'DOLPHIN' is a fine name and I want to continue that practice.

"UF-[Weapon Type]-[Year][Optional Variant Letter] [Weapon Nickname]"

Building on that, from the Discord we'd like to posit

[Weapon type] [Name] [Year] - [Version number]

So for the torpedo it would be seen as TPD "DOLPHIN" 38-1

The new designation could probably be put onto the front of the name, before the weapon type like Saint's scheme.

Hibou's designation system sounds good. Simple and catchy.

Anyway, voting for this flag, or Nuke Star's and swords should there be a tie.
