Throw the club at the vampire's ugly face as a distraction, and strangle its throat with both hands, draining even more of its strenght. Try not to get the vampire inside my body, though.

Hopefully, Nina will try healing if I succeed since the vampire would be in my grip and unable to attack her. Otherwise, I would probably die.

Immortality like that would be even more game breaking than four Aaron's in one place.
You're both so obviously scum that this is a surprisingly difficult decision.

Stats look good. One armour item provides full coverage, one piece, two pieces, six pieces, no problem, it's all one item.  Any mundane clothes or such are free.

Pick a starting location.  Check the map to choose one.  It's huge, you might need to find a computer to look at it, or some other help.

Put your sheet into a spoiler.  It saves page space and looks better.  It's the little button that looks like a nuke symbol.  You'll want to keep track of it in order to change locations, track mana totals, update inventory, things like that.  And Piecewise is a skeleton, he needs to feel it in his bones!  So you'll want to keep it at hand to make it easy for the skeleton-in-charge.

You may also want to consider taking a spirit and/or some mana with your starting inventory.. as a servant, you'll need to find a spirit to get any mana, which will be noticably more difficult if you don't start with one.  Not impossible, though.

Welcome to the game.

"It would be my pleasure to work with you."

Spoiler: Zavi (click to show/hide)
"Good. In that case lets get you set up as a prospect. You won't be a full Breaker to start with, but if you prove yourself and stay alive, you'll advance.  If you have no objections or pressing matters, I'll take you back, get you equipped and we'll go hunting some Ghouls right away."

"I wouldn't collapse the cavern even without the hostages.  The entire city is more or less built on top of it."  Saeko then describes the viewing device used to get a look at the cavern.

"I'll go get my griffen, I had to park it down in Moffett."

Go right back down, then, and pick up ye gryphon and my guard, assuming the building can handle my creature.

This time, being in slightly less of a hurry, look for any quick hug opportunities such as giving change to a beggar or a simple heal for mana like the ones I've done before.  If I can't find anyone, find a bar to buy a round at, and go for a quickie hug or two there.

Then return to the HQ.

Spoiler: Saeko Hirahara (click to show/hide)
"We'll see what our options are." The Mage Breaker says after his conversation with the other person. "We may have to drain the lake into the cavern if collapsing it isn't an option. In any case I'll make the arrangements and have men waiting for you."

You run right back down to Moffett (1v5) as you see no opportunities for hugs along the way,  pay the man there a gold, and then take Benedict up. You circle up to the top of the volcano and then glide back down, coming in on a long pass until you reach the HQ.  The HQ's roof is a wide, flat place  with plenty of room to land, even though a large bit of it is taken up by what appears to be an airship in the middle of inflating. The air ship, a new creation but clearly copied from Mechanist works, resembles an iron boat complete with cannons and guns built into it like a bristling ballistic hedgehog.  Around it are a dozen or more people: Several are working on getting the airship set up but the rest appear to be Mage Breakers of one kind or another.  There are two of the fully decked out Mage Breakers in their signature giant armor, Though they're wielding different weapons; one is a woman who wields a combination catch pole and spear with a tower shield, the other is a man with the standard Sword and shield combo. The others are wearing surcoats or gambesons with helmets, shin guards, bracers and other scattered bits of metal armor. Their armaments vary and include longswords, spears, bows, crossbows, catch poles, and weighted chains.

The female Mage Breaker steps up to you as you dismount.

"Preparations will be complete momentarily. We will make for Lake Candentis as soon as we are able to. If you would act as our guide along the way, it would be very helpful.  However, you are under no obligation to do so."

Check the ghost tracker. any ghosts? If not, mark the spot on a map and move on.

There is a spirit. Straight down.

Spoiler: Randolf Osborn (click to show/hide)
[6v8]
You hurl the club at the vampire but it wriggles unnaturally out of the way and comes for you again.
[6v2]
Instead of backing off you lunge forwards, taking it off guard and wrapping your hands around its throat.
[3] +3 mana
You drain more mana from it and again that horrible cold flows through you. It must just be the nature of the creature's mana.
[4v7][10]
The creature writhes with inhuman speed and strength, kicking you straight off it  and leaping to its feet. It coils itself to lunge again when the Mage Breaker steps in and cuts it off at the knees, severing both legs in a single swing.  The creature goes down with a screech and starts rapidly running away on its hands.

"Thank you, thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I have been Ron, this has been my companion Grim, and you have been a great audience."

Hide my earned money in the end of my shoe.

"Grim, it's time we retire for the night. Somewhere close by, but where we won't attract attention. Thoughts?"

Spoiler: Ron (click to show/hide)
You hide your earnings as best you can but most of it is in small change so the sheer bulk is something to deal with. You at least hide the greatest amount you can, though not your shoes weigh a lot and jingle very noticeably.

As per places around, your familiar recommends a rather reputable looking Inn in the square. That or a cave.

The town of Barilla
Switched lantern to Ghost Charm
The material you start with is "Lightsilver", which we call Aluminum (Or Aluminium).

Barilla is a town stuck up between two rivers near Lake Candentis, packed against a cliff wall.  They're a quiet town that doesn't really have any exports or imports and are not easily or commonly reached. They live mostly by fishing the rivers and foraging natural plants with some small amount of farming. In all there are only about 250 people in the town and the homes are scattered along the uneven terrain. How people will treat you is pretty dependent on if you're a native about to head off into the world or a stranger just passing through. Which would you like to be?

Accept the ranged position.
Spoiler: Robert Grant (click to show/hide)
They give you a rifle (d8) and a three single shot pistols (d6) to serve your duty and you take your position.  The group heads out and for the first few hours everything goes fine. However, around 1 in the after noon, many miles from town and under the beating sun, one of the lookouts spots something. The boiling heat mirage off the sands prevents you from getting a good look as you stand up on your chair and squint out towards the thing. It a black splotch rapidly growing closer. You shoulder your rifle but don't aim at it quite yet, waiting to see what happens. The splotch grows from a smear on the horizon to an all consuming shadow within the span of maybe a second and a half. Something, something that can fly, screams overhead at ungodly speeds  and nearly topples the wagon with the gust of wind that follows after. The wagon driver calls to the rest of the men behind him and snaps the reins, urging the oversized beetle pulling the wagon to skitter quicker.  You drop back into your seat before the jostling can throw you off and ask the driver what that was.

"Sand Ray." He says, not taking his eyes off the road. "Making an observation pass. It will be back  in a few moments, this time to eat. Get ready lad."

Be on the lookout and stand guard while Darwin does his spell.

Take a look into the shaft and try to get a rough idea of where the other levels are, and perhaps of where some of the other rooms in this building are.

I would like to use my 'viscera' word to do a spell similar to the one I did during Cave Adventure to detect the dolmen. Specifically, a short pulse to detect the viscera of the creatures inside this tower. The area to be affected is just this tower (and a little bit below it in case there are basement levels). The duration is a pulse of, at most, like a second or two, just enough to detect if the viscera in certain areas are moving or laying still mostly (to distinguish bug sleeping rooms from areas with actively working bugs).

In case there are a lot of signatures, try to specifically be on the lookout for the following (in descending order of importance):
 - viscera that are not like the ones of these bugs, either due to being different in kind (eg. human viscera) or size (eg. a very big queen bug).
 - areas with a lot of moving bugs.
 - areas where I think there are rooms but with no bugs in them (might indicate areas where they store things or with machinery).

I'm willing to try the spell up to 3 times at least, should the first attempt fail.

Spoiler: Darwin Zeppeli (click to show/hide)

Tricksy hidden hobbitses

The levels are irregularly distributed, generally between 10 and 20 feet apart.

[3v8] [-8 mana]
[1v5] [-5 mana]
[10v7] [-7 mana]
The spell attempt fails the first time, and again the second time. The third proves to be the charm a  long pulse of light seems to sweep off away from you, moving through the tower and illuminating the things within. There are a lot of bugmen in here; rough estimate at least a 100 if not more. There are a few humans scattered about and, up near the top, an odd signature. Not quite human or bug or anything else.

I'm interested in animated painting thing. -edit- bought for 10 gold.

"I would be happy to guide you back to Lunare.  I also would like to contribute to the battle myself.  If possible, could one of you ride with me so I can discuss doing so on the way back?"

Lead them back to Lake Candentis.  If possible, have a magebreaker ride with me so I can discuss possible ways of contributing to the battle, such as buffing spells or items.  Explain the words I have.
