I wonder pw, is it absolutely necessary for a lot of people to post for you to run a turn in this? Unlike something unnatural selection, which is highly competitive and missing a turn can mean you're dead, or wizards which is focused on a small group, most players in this game are pretty independent. So couldn't you just run turns for those who had the time/interest to post, even if it's only a small percentage of people nominally playing?

Hell, even if the game drops to only ~7 people regularly posting, is that such a problem if those people are having fun? Sure, the cabal aspect of the game might not really get realized like that, but is a sandbox wizard game without a big competitive angle inferior? And for the people who don't like the current CABAL style, you're running multiple other games with a different style, so it's not like there's a dearth of options here (not to mention all the other stuff in the subforum).

Seriously, for me the game is just getting interesting and exciting, pulling another DIG and killing it now would be really unfortunate.

EDIT: perhaps if we drop the explicit cabal part and make turns open, there'll be more interest?

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Perhaps this is the perfect time then to start posting in the thread? That'd be another person actively posting.

So, How about this:

No more spoilers, forget the secret nature of this, do as you like
Make the rewards of mana higher
Remove that overarching goal of controlling the world, let you do whatever you like.

Good? If I can get 4 votes for it, I'll do it.

TBH I'm on the verge of dropping both games I'm in.

I'm just not really enjoying them. It's not anything on your end, it's just I get a feeling of 'oh hell now I have to deal with this again' when it's time for a new action. It's an obligation instead of a game, now.

Moved to SufficientVelocity / Spacebattles.

Yeah, I'm hiding away for no real reason, and hypocritically wondering what other people are doing. Sounds good to me.

Hey cool, we could look at what everyone was doing! This'll be fun!

I never took that "control the world" objective seriously anyway.
