B, if you don't choose B than you betray the human race into permanent and unsurmountable servitude or extinction.

It was a  rather short affair. they came, they lost, they left. But it showed just how weak we were in the bigger picture, how easily destroyed we would be if anyone with more then one systems worth of resources came seeking our destruction.

We worked, and we worked hard.  all at once, the entirety of our population created and focussed on the arts of war.

What would've taken months of groundwork, we had finished a starship in just four weeks after the infrastructure was set. and then another, and then another.

By the end of the year, we had eight warships ready. The Dreadnaught was ready as well.

A. A strange plague had swept across the planet, it did not affect the Adaptions but its effects were horrific, and had killed 50%~ of the infected. Things had started to seem blique about humanities survival until we had hit our lucky break.
B. We built, and we prospered.

Virulent, utterly destructive and utterly horrific in its capacity of wiping out the population of Colony. It didn't  kill with just toxicology and the physical aspects of the body, but it took three days to show symptoms, three days where it infected the lungs, driving deeper and deeper until the deepest parts were afflicted, and then it would begin to terminate. From start to finish, it was virulent, anyone who breathed the same air as the infected would be infected, and would spread the disease not an hour later.

Two colonial Habitats had to be destroyed, the machinery that kept the colony in the "safe" zone of the planet had been deemed not worth the risk of infection.

It was thankfully kept on the planet due to strict screening procedures, and none of the military crews were affected bar the Dreadnaught. It was kept in orbit, it's atmospherics system was used to pump a burning agent to clear the ship of the virulent from the vents. It took two months for it to be recovered, and both the admiral and the captain which had manned the vessel were lost.

A. It triggered a distress signal, and an automated force had arrived and aligned itself to the protection of Colony.
B. An exploratory ship had discovered a cloning installation, with the capacity to create thousands and thousands of soldiers or workers. It was of alien design, but it was adapted for Man millennia ago.
C. To survive the plague, genetic augmentation research was spurned. It became common place for genetic and synthetic augmentations to be held on every colonist, but it came with a terrible, terrible cost. Their immune systems had started to fail, and a stop-gap had resulted in every man, woman, and child to wear bio-suits to separate them from the environment around them. Augmentations of the military variety had resulted in super soldiers becoming a fast reality.
D. The virus had...  "activated" some individuals, resulting in some sort of latent "power" to become reality if they survived the infection.
E. An inactive Von Neumann Macro-Plague had been found in a Human research lab that was unearthed on the planet, it was stored and studied, while also replicated. The terrible weapon had no need for use, yet.
F. Something else? ((Be reasonable, please.)

It was a ship. a massive ship, an industrial ship to be exact. It was towed back to Colony and archeologists found the purpose.  It's panels folded out, and drones began flying up and done from teh surface, collecting carbonacious matter as its cloning bays began churning, it took seven days for the first command crews to come out of the bays themselves, and manned the ships internal systems. they were completely dedicated to mankind, if strange, and odd.

A. They were used to build the military might of mankind, their legions made the bulk of the force that defended Colony.
B. They were used to build the might of mankind, working the factories and the efforts that no sane man would've done, catapulting the ifastructure of mankind by wide margins.
C. They were used in every facet of society, causing problems in some places, but ultimately bolstering Mankind.

I really dropped the ball here, Let us fix that.

Each of them was skilled, to a certain extent with the engineering, sciences and the labors of production. From the lowliest steel worker to the highest of the star engineers, they were absolute, unilaterally devoted to the work of mankind. they held no intent of backstabbing, just pure innocuous work ethic.

The facility was moved to the Orbit of Colony, and its industrial might truly begin to fold. It's nanite swarms created its own special dockyard and attached the ship to an ever growing lattice matrix of piping, electrical or otherwise. Warmachines were created, and it was attached to the main dockyard of Mankind.

Thus began the foundry, manned by a subspecies of Human clones named the "Workers". These strange souls worked and toiled and were happy for it.

A. The Dreadnaught  "Warriors Respite" and it's task force of four frigates and six cruisers had fought with the enemy.
B. A three cruiser and eight frigate task force had fought the enemy.
C. A cruiser and two frigates had found the enemy.
D. A single frigate, almost damaged to the point of becoming a hulk had escaped their onslaught and had warned us of their coming. They were here to scour us again.

Barely escaping the fast picket group of the vanguard, the lone Drone tender which had been salvaging the debris of mankind's past, it had arrived as a messenger.

A. We met them head on.
B.We struck and left, and repeated at Infinitum.
C. Small battles, a battle of attrition, with suicidal warships at every turn.
D. We hid.
