Drowning the elephants, good choice.
That thing won't drown; it must be a really good swimmer.
Pissing off the elephants(?) Bad choice.

So MrLurkety, how much longer till the end of your turn? I think we've gone over the 1 week limit.

After MrLurkety, it is puppyguard's turn, then I'm skipping mine so Zazq's comes next.

I'll zip it and upload it tomorrow. Sorry, I've just not had much time.

why you skipping your turn?  Didn't you say something like it being too hard?  But none of us have experience with necromancer crossbow squads.  it's thin ice all around.  Simply spending a year organizing stockpiles and catching up on hauling jobs is very useful in 10+ year old fortresses.  You don't have to be the drill that will pierce the heavens every single turn.  I really think you should should not opt out and instead ease in.  do you want a to do list?

I've been a bit pressed for time here lately anyway. It's really nothing, and if I'm gonna be honest, I'm having more fun watching this madness than when I have played Dwarf Fortress.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I took a look at the amount of revealed necromancers in the fort. Holy cow we have a lot.

I found a fire man just chillin' some time later.

Uh-oh, it looks like the military squad was left to fight elephants.
Well no problem, I'm sure the-

WHAT THE HECK?
HOW IS THIS MONSTER ALIVE? IT JUST KILLED ONE OF THE MILITARY DWARVES!

That's just outright terrifying.
I sent the experienced military and they killed it in a single blow.
An elf caravan arrived, I had them murdered by the experienced military.
I continued  work on my fabulous over-magma retirement home.
Wait WHAT IS THAT?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
HOW DID THOSE MONSTERS LEARN TO CLIMB TREES!?!?!

I tried to kill it with the military but they refused to shoot at it.
I decided not to risk letting it loose, it seems content to stay up in the tree(somehow).

We have some new migrants, I found a heretic though. I toggled off his mechanic labor as he won't be needing it when I'm done with him.

I'm five months in so far, still a ways to go.

The elephant climbing the tree was absurd enough to make me laugh. I'm just trying to imagine an elephant trying to climb something that is it's size.

Actually, that's not true, you've been a necromancer for quite awhile now.

Oh great, a goblin siege.

yay... so many goblins and trolls

 :o NOOOOOO!

The Outpost liaison asked for recommendations on someone to become baron.
Had I not been slain I would have recommended myself, Instead I decided to recommend zazq since he's least likely to be slain in combat, as he spends most of his time stalking around that library of his.
