"Thank you father. Sihylde, you've done well, too." Einar grinned to himself. It seemed taking the time to learn from Boğdır was already paying great dividends; he had stood firm when other men faltered, and he had matched a monster step for step, blow for blow, and come out the victor. Perhaps he, too, would earn himself a fearsome reputation by the time his raiding days ended. He needed a trophy more than the head, a continuing proof of this day, and he had some ideas. Boğdır told him that he had drank bear blood to gain the strength of the beast.

Einar would go one better.

He hacked out the heart of the minotaur as well as cutting off the head, and after presenting the head to Rodrick, took one of the horns from the beast. The first he would cook and eat - both to gain the strength of the minotaur and to honor Boğdır's teachings - before heading into battle once more; the second he would hollow and fashion into a war horn. Every time he sounded it, the others would remember his courage.

Do the two things mentioned in the last paragraph of RP. Also Einar proposes attacking during the day; the beastmen would probably have the advantage of scent, so attacking at night would accomplish little except make it more difficult for us to see them.

Agreed. Fighting animal-people in the evening is a bad idea.

Haha oh man, that is awesome. This will definitly have an effect on Einar, I'm thinking next time when experience is spent, there will be some special traits for you, or maybe a discount on ferocity die. However, once you take a trait like that, there will be some consequences like uncontrollable rage or something like that. What do you think?

Taricus: Any reaction to your son doing this? Also, don't forget you are indeed a protagonist now (and Mardent is basiclly one as well)  :P

Rodrick agrees with your assesment of when to attack. Now to decide your approach. An all out assault, forming a battle line and drawing them out, or sneaking around and catching them off guard?

(I'm all for something happening from it. Should I add a minotaur war-horn to one of my inventory slots? :P)

"...Boy, Don't eat that heart. You're the leader of this band and we need you clear-headed for this. The horn is a fine idea though and will definitely be worthwhile to carve into a horn. Though I'd suggest taking both, and use the other a mead horn."

"You can have the second horn, if you wish." Einar wasn't to be dissuaded from his current plans, however.

Being Resolve-heavy, Einar is leaning toward the tried-and-true tactic of shield walls.

"Currently, we have two  options.  There will almost certainly be Cimbri present, and considering  a single Minotaur  took almost our entire group to bring down, a frontal attack would be suicidal. If we were to  form up,  we would  have a centralized battle line. The question is, would it even hold underneath the beastmen?  A surprise attack has its advantages, but   they probably know the camp better than we do. In short, both plans have their risks and benefits."  As he was explaining this to the assembled group, Skjære noticed  a rather strange sight.  Einar had removed the heart and horns of the Minotaur, and was currently engaged  in a conversation with his father, who didn't seemed pleased with the  former addition.  It seems  the berserker had taken a trophy of his battles.  Given, Skjære had taken a prize of his own, but it was far more utilitarian.  Before leaving, Skjære instructed  some of his men to skin and treat the fur of the Minotaur. He intended to present this item as a gift to Thane Evarson, in hopes of smoothing some items over. He didn't need anymore enemies...

Let him eat it. That way, when he's wracked with pain from a blood-born zoonotic illness, he'll know his dear ol' dad was right all along. ;)

Einar Resolve vs Kol Ferocity
(3,1,1) vs (2)

Kol attempts to command Einar to not eat the heart, but Einar will not back down. He grips the heart tightly and bites deep. Kol watches in disgust, and turns away.
