The Sea Wolves celebrate in Crag Outpost with the small garrison. Rodrick decided to bring out what ale and mead that they had, and Sihylde rolled in a few casks herself from the ship. Rodrick raised a toast to the brave men and women of the Sea Wolves!

“Fine warriors all, and may songs of your valor echo in the halls of your descendants!”

Kol regaled the listeners of how they lured the beast men into a trap, and was cheered when he described how the fearsome minotaur was burned. Everyone was ushered outside, where Daglar the Rune Priest performed sacrifices for their victory, sending 10 of the Cimbri to the underworld, leaving one captive. (And more than filling your fate.)

Anything else that you do during the celebration?

In the morning, Rodrick asked the squad leaders to go Thane Evarson, and ask for more supplies to repair the fort. He shook his head,

“But I do not know how long we can hold out. The beasts presence in this area is increasing, though you have dealt them a blow in that battle! We will need more men, but the Jarls are unwilling to commit troops in defense of lands that are not their own. We will just have to do the best we can, I suppose.”

Sihylde asked him if there were any good potential locations for forts in this area. Rodrick stroked his beard, and replied that there were a few, but he knew Thane Evarson was looking to make a new fort close to Averland to support increased raiding. “Unless the Jarls start paying us, that’s the best way to support our forces,” he shrugged.

Anything else you want to ask or do before you depart for home?
A.   Head home!
B.   Do something else

((I kinda think we needed...5, or so, since the only one who I think spent fate was me. :P but yay 5/5 now!))

Ooo, and I guess this is a tiny interlude then.

Jora helps make traps or find some healing plants or otherwise and teaching how to basically apply them in times of wounding before heading home. During the celebration, she prays to the Allfather for aid and to watch over the men in this fortress. (Because superstitious and spiritual Jora is what you've got :P)

(Hey, I tanked the fear for everyone with a fate point. Don't sell me short, little sister. :P )

During the celebration, Einar simply mingles with Rodrick's warriors and learns what he can of the area and the people in it. Afterward, before they head home, Einar gives some training tips on shield use to Rodrick's troops (and any Wolves that want it), in order to help with their effectiveness in defending from future raids.

Haha a midnight attack would be totally unfair, it's not like the beastmen know where the outpost is.... oh wait, I guess they do. But you killed the ones that knew where.... oh well I guess there were survivors of your attack... Hmm interesting idea Funk  :P

It was late into the night when the beastmen came. Their black barge sliding over the water, it came up quietly onto the shores. Coming through the forest, behind the outpost and docks where the ships rested, they began to climb the walls, throwing hooks and rope to provide purchase.

Jóra was in prayer in a small shrine to a few of the major gods, asking for aid and protection for their journey home tomorrow. She felt a feeling on unease that she sought to address through prayer to the All-father. Suddenly a cry came through the air, and shouts of “Attack! Attack!” More guttural cries came in response, and Jóra grabbed for her weapons as the door to the shrine burst open, with a large dark wolf man armed with a jagged sword and shield.

What do you do?

Einar, out in the yard sparring with a few warriors, heard the cry and spun around to see a warrior on guard duty cry out “Attack! Attack!” before a javlen struck him down. A few beasts rush at him, and Einar sees more come over the walls.

What do you do?

Kol and Sihylde were drinking and laughing inside the outpost proper as screams and shouts broke through the din of conversation. Kol and Sihylde exchange a startled glance, and grab for their weapons. Rodrick calls for calm as the warriors scramble to find weapons, and a few immediately run out into the yard outside.

I'll pick up the table and using it as shield, i'll rush out in to the courtyard.
(I really don't want to get trapped inside a burning hall or shot.)

Look around my immediate  surroundings,  attempting to find the most defensible position. If there are any nearby soldiers, Skjære  tries to command them.

First things first. Blow the horn to alert anyone who is not already alerted, then gather what warriors he can quickly and organize a shield wall.

((I'm totally inserting Skjære into this anyway :P))

Jora fires a whistling arrow into the sky to alert the everybody and goes running off to whatever defenses we've got--noticing Skjære busy doing whichever he was doing for this particular night (like awesomely guarding) and then defending the lines.

Also fire arrows for every attack :P

[if it's to the wolf-man, shoot the legs or immobilize em {Then seax to end it quickly if I can, but otherwise just ensure they can't harm anyone}, THEN run out and help defend other folks]

((In which I empty my special arrow ammunition, save 1 last whistling arrow; I assume 'a few' = 3 or so, but in several degrees to their utility and all))

Also just to ask, whenever you type struck down...judging by all our recent encounters, that's like a 6-8 out of a 10 on the mortality scale [10 = ded] as it seems we're really hardy folk.
Whenever I read struck down, for context, was from a DF sort of view. The one that goes 'you dead'. :P

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

Sihylde bursts into action, clearing off a table of food and drink, and grabbing it by the legs rushes out of the door into the yard where Einar is organizing a shield wall. Kol with his sword and shield close behind her. Arrows fly out from the darkness, and embed themselves into her table. Several of the warriors beside her fall with arrows in their chests.

Einar grabs his horn, and blows. The sound cries defiance at the monsters at the gate, and brings hope to the embattled. The warriors cheer at the sound, and the beasts seem to be taken a bit aback by this, pulling back from their attack nervously. Einar barks out orders, and the warriors streaming out of hall and those in the yard form a shield wall.   The gate then begins to resound with blows and falls apart, and standing there is a minotaur, with an iron breastplate, and a large steel axe. He looks around, then spots Einar standing with the horn. Its eyes fill with an unreasoning hate, and it bellows and charges forth right at Einar. Cimbri and beast men also charge at the assembled shield wall.

Most of your men are here in the shield wall, but there are a few that were assigned to guard the long ship during the night. Staying in the shield wall is risky, and counter-charging is desperate.

Skjære, on his way to the shrine after discussing the construction of the outpost with Rodrick, heard the sounds of fighting and looked around for warriors (6) and found a mix of about 10 men gambling in a corner by the walls. Skjære sees hooks fly over the walls and latch on, and grits his teeth. The horn sounds from the yard, but he thought he saw some movement by the shrine. The warriors motion him to go to the yard, but Skjære is unsure.

Jóra, in the shrine, faces down the wolfman, and quickly pulls an arrow out, and lighting it on fire from a candle in the shrine, sends it flying at the beast. He catches it on his shield, and leaps at Jóra, who smoothly deflects his sword strike to the side with her bow. The wolfman snaps at her face with his teeth, while she wrenches her seax free and stabs the weapon into his shoulder, making him howl in pain. He shoves her away, and readies his weapon for another swing.

Jóra’s position is desperate

Progress until outpost is overrun: 1/4

  What about Skjære?
Whoops my bad! Where was Skjaere during the party? In the hall, training in the yard, roaming the woods? I'll put him in the update post once you let me know. Got him in there!

He had  finished giving some architectural tips to Roderick, and was walking to the shrine. Even though Skjære didn't believe in gods, he felt obligated to pray, more out of respect to his parents than devotion.
