Kol merely shakes his head and thanks the gods that he has at least one other son, if not more.

Before Sihylde's routine stood the degenerate Cimbri warriors
Worse then mere wild men, that had turn there teeth on there fellow man.
Sihylde remembered the tales used to frighten children, they where all to true.
As Sihylde stood behind the line shield men she admitted it to here self, she was scared.
She griped her hammer tighter and remembered that Crom would wash her fear way with the blood of here enemy's.

As the Cimbri meet her lines, hammer's crashed in the night as axes sang through the air, each blow echoing as skulls split and splintered.

((Dad means me. :P))

Jora suddenly felt a pang in her chest. A thought struck her and she felt fully agreeing with it. "I...feel like I'll check over our men instead," she muttered.

She mulled over the thought as she looked over the wounded--especially the status of her archer. She did not like consuming the dead, but was okay with her allies doing it--it just didn't feel good.

Full agreement with day battles. Rest right now; heal up the other folks! (AND if ever possible; retroactively try to heal our gored archer!)

(Berserkers supposedly drank the blood of wolves, bears, and boars to gain their strength, so in a somewhat-fantasy Viking setting this is totally a good idea. :P )

(Starting situation roll: 6)

The morning sun shines bright upon the Sea Wolves as they stand on a small hill overlooking the encampment. It is a dark and ugly thing. A barge lies carelessly on the beach in the middle of it. It has a simple palisade around it, and open holes where the beasts can pass. Hide tents are spread haphazardly around in the clearing, with a crude hall built in the center. There is some movement in the camps below. Einar looks left and right at the Sea Wolves. 60 strong, there is a mix of veterans and fresh recruits. He motions them into position, and Kol, Sihylde and Skjære order the shieldwall into formation. Jóra gets the archers ready, and nods at Einar. Einar grins, and brings the minotaur horn that he made the day before to his lips, and blew. It resounded into the camp below, and into the forests. The Sea Wolves could feel the reverberations into their bones.

The call faded, and for a moment there was silence. Then answering calls came from the encampment, and shouts and calls. They could see a horde of Cimbri and man- sized beasts alongside a minotaur rush from the encampment towards the waiting company. The men tighten the grip on their weapons, and prepare themselves for the onslaught.

The company has a defensive advantage, and a height advantage. How do you set up your men, and what do you do?

Tir: Yeah of course! The mechanics are kind of inspired by Blades in the Dark, which is a Victorian/fantasy game about a gang of criminals. I just simplified it a lot. You actually prevented anybody from being killed in the ambush by resisting that by shooting the minotaur, so there is not really anybody for you to heal.

The minotaur bellows and charges towards the middle of your hunting party. Jóra, her bow ready and prepared by her father’s warning, quickly snapped a shot off at the charging beast. The arrow buried itself in its shoulder, making the brute cry out in pain, and stopping it from charging into the group. Due to Jóra resisting.

Since Einar decided to inspire everybody with his fate point, your use of your fate point was used to resist the minotaur's attack, thus the italics and change of the situation.

Funk: Ehh you are in unclaimed territory, really. The beast-men hordes drove off everyone who lived in this area long ago. Thane Evarson has several companies of the Sea Wolves, and maintains a few outposts in this area. The outpost was on an island a little off the mainland, and the encampment you are attacking is on the mainland.
Also, Crom is well pleased with Sihylde  :P

In that case i'll keep an eye out for any where that we could build a stronghold on, a tight river bend, cliff sides, two rivers merging or a small islet, a narrow peninsular, or a steep hill.
Ideally it'd be a narrow peninsular with a sheltered harbour.

"Steady now get those! shields up! spear men in to line! flankers to your places!"

(My men will form a line with the spear and shield men and wait for the best men to attack, then the axe and hammer men will try and attack the sides of the beast men horde.)

...he says, shrugging off the archer who just got gored by a horned beast. :P
Yay! Good rolls.

Jora felt the energy of the horn create tremors on her skin--she could feel Einar's courage through the deep bellow of the horn-call.

Archers; use fire arrows! Orders to protect our flanks from the high ground (and maybe aim for any gateways or combustibles if we can see them)
Jora; use a whistling arrow straight through the bunch of them to add to the noise and disorientation.
Plus focusing on that minotaur!

Maybe -1 fate for a +1 roll on all this? :3 [2/5 fate left if used]

"Jora, bring that minotaur down before it reaches us! Everyone else, form up and hold fast! Ready yourselves for their charge! We will hold this hill!"

Einar's orders for his men are basically the same as Sihylde's: spear/spear & shield receive the brunt of the charge, then the others sweep in to hack at the sides.

"Kick dirt onto them too! We've a real height advantage here and I won't be surprised if you find sand under your feet. I'll take that beast."

Jora just remembered that a bit of tar and fire could do extremely well in trapping the enemy on lower ground--she had forgotten to bring the tar or pitch, though.

Funk: Okay! Yeah Sihylde will keep an eye out for terrain like that. Action is risky, and I'm assuming you will be with the hammer and axe men attacking the flanks? Shield wall will be resolve, flank attack would be ferocity with great effect.

Tir: Sure! Though it is -2 fate to help yourself, -1 to help someone else  :P Fire arrows(jar of pitch) and whistling arrows will take up your two inventory spots, so you are good on that count... Oh wait, did you mean making like a fire trap, like shooting a fire arrow into a bunch of tar on the ground??? That'd be cool, so -1 fate to flashback to setting that up (anybody can do this).

SC: I'm guessing you will be in the shield wall? That will be risky and testing resolve, with great effect.
