Skjaere views himself as a "self made man", one combining both elements of his heritage to his advantage. Fun  fact, Skjaere's spear was a product of both his mother and father (more on this later...)  As for the Dark Bargain, I'd like to  at least hear the idea.

((Hehe, I figured that was the case with Evarsson with him and Kol. Heck, Einar was likely partially raised by Evarsson's family in norse tradition too.))

Haha okay, you are giving him your action then. Do you want to add +1 to his roll by spending a fate point?

Mardent: So same deal about the controlled vs risky vs desperate: you can choose. Hmm Dark Bargain... you will get +1 die, but will have to provide an alternative sacrifice. Or you can offer a counter- Dark Bargain, if you have a better idea.

If you try it, you're the one being sacrificed unless you've a better idea :P

Change to Risky; Spend 2 fate :P (yeah I'll be left with 3/5 but it's no worry).
Possible counters are: Explaining the dark spirit to monks and to both build relations with the Thane [because the monk transgressed something she mentioned earlier]

Because it finally hit me that we're the hosts--we're the 'spirit purgers'. If you go as a guest to another land and insult the people, stuff happens.

What does everyone else think?
Well we're playing more on lore here, as we don't really know why there's spirits or why there is a trait for speaking to spirits, but dark bargain it up! :3 (it means exp~ but being silly aside, it's a good risk at this point)

"I won't go against our Thane's wishes, but I can diffuse this so that the rest will understand."

((All secondary characters get 3 fate, so you've a ton to spend on!))

Alright, 3 Fate it is. Look at it this way, if we fail, we get fate back... heh.

Tir: Well someone gave their action to their second-in-command  :P Most fate you are able to spend to assist is 1 fate for +1. Making a desperate roll would give you 1 exp though!

Mardent: You can push yourself by spending 2 fate to add another +1, or increase your effect. Your effect would be normal now, but you can make it great by spending the fate.

Okay, so you are making a desperate action, normal effect
Jora is spending one fate to add +1 die
Skjaere is spending 2 fate to add +1 die or improve to great effect
Dark Bargain?
And what exactly is your action? Do you jump in right away, or do you wait till after the feast to intervene?

Wasn't it changed to risky by Jora's 2 fate?

"Again, it will not be diffused. The Thane is in no mood for convincing through anything but violence, and he's gotten to his age without much of a scratch to tell of his exploits. And I wouldn't be opposed to him killing the rest of the monks in the same fashion either, thunderer knows those damned monks are a vile evil unto themselves."
