Mini-Update
So in Coins, you all have looted about 39 coins worth. Your Thane will expect one third of that, along with 1 third of your captives. This leaves you with 26 coins, and 17 captives. Your 45 warriors will expect at least 1/2 coin as plunder, though you could also give them captives to satisfy them. Giving them the warriors the minimum will leave you 3.5 coins, + your 17 captives (worth a coin each, 2 for monks) to divide among yourselves.

Your warriors are bone-tired, it will be all about they can do to make it back to the ship. But they are satisfied with how the raid has gone.

Einar and Fromund both have level 2 wounds, these are more serious and take off 1 dice for actions that could be affected by your injury. They will fall to a level one injury in a few weeks, and then heal in a few days.

Jora can get her whistling arrows for -1 fate now, but you could also wait and get them for relatively free once you are back home. As for healing, you may be able to speed up the recovery time by a week or two, but you are not a healer (yet, though you could become trained). But you wouldn't need to spend fate points to do that unless you wanted to boost your rolls.

Daglar sacrifices the village elder in spite of his protest, quickly and with he minimum of ceremony. The ground seems to greedily drink his blood. All the captains seem to feel as if the gods now smile on them more favorably. (Because I haven't done a good job of keeping track of everyone's fate points, they are all restored to full  :P) Also if you decide that you do want to resist your wounds before the next update I'll do later, that is fine but will require additional sacrifices to get back to full.

Do you let the other villagers go?

The company trudges back to their ship, exhausted, but happy with all of their plunder. The 5 warriors guarding the ship greet the returning raiders with loud cheers, but grow concerned due to the lethargy of the company, and their blood splattered condition. Kol Magnusson scans the crowd anxiously, then breaks out into a huge grin at the sight of his daughter and son. He comes closer, and Jóra is the first to embrace him. He looks concerned at her broken nose. He goes over to hug Einar, but stops at the sight of the blood-soaked bandage wrapped around his chest. Frømund walks by with a limp and raises his hand in greeting. Sihylde merely nods, wrapped up in her own thoughts.
   Kol takes over for his tired son temporarily, ordering his 4 other fresh men to help organize the goods into the hold, along with the captives. 39 coins worth and 25 captives, 15 monks and 10 young men and women, are packed together.  He rallies the company long enough for them to get them out to sea, pointing to their destination. The company promptly falls asleep on the benches as the foggy morning is burned away and replaced by the afternoon sun.

We should totally spend our coins on armaments, probable rations, and a ship upgrade. Emphasis on the ship upgrade. :P
And then focus on being benevolent Nords. My opinion though :3 I'd love to hear yours. Obviously includes 'secondary characters' because they're very important just as us.

Because morale is needed much.
So my computations are as is; the actual 40 coins by the 25 prisoners? It's cut down to 17 captives--10 monks, 8 wounded Footmen (Since I bet the villagers got the good side and went for a better life anyway), UNLESS we have a bare minimum needed of monks to teach Southern Literacy.

Given the 26 coins, we'll at least have around 34, meaning around 3.5 + 8 coins. Sans the 10 Monks we've left (or any configuration people will do, once we get more specific later on when we get there)

I'll wait then and conserve 1 fate! (1/5 remaining due to probably helping out others with their wounds by spending 2 Fate).
Is it my silliness to expect being attacked at sea and use my whistling arrows for signaling? :P
I'll wait for it.

Also I'm aiming to be a diplomatic marksman healer probably. Either way, I'm aiming to be a support character.

My bad, I wasn't exactly sure how many fate points everyone needed to fill up, so that one sacrifice restored everyone back to full fate. I think I'm just going to have everyone gets a fate point from a sacrifice, so the max you need to do is 5 and I cut down on who gets what fate point  :P

Sorry I've been slow guys! Finals tomorrow, and all that. But I'll introduce some things for you guys to think about in the meantime.

First is your home! This is going to be your guy's little corner of the world, so feel free to describe it! Aiming for a low fantasy for this kind of area, like a Skyrim Nord settlement. I reserve the right to veto, and don't contradict something that has been already been accepted, but other than that, feel free to fill in the gaps!

What is your home?
A. A town surrounded by tall forests and rich veins of ore. Natural resources are abundant here.
B. A town built around a huge stone temple. Various cults of the gods make their home here.
C. A town built on fertile fields, and great fishing grounds. This place is a food basket for the Nords.
D. A city, placed on a great trade route.
E.A castle, with a village around it. Warriors assemble and train here. 
F.Something else


Next is Experience! To purchase a trait, that will cost 10 points, while a new dice in any stat will cost 15 (You can now go to 4 dice in a stat).

Loot experience: 39 coins +25 captives= 64/10= 6 experience
+1 experience if you made a rp post after the town

Here are a few more questions, if it applies to your character answer it. If it really applies to your character and it definitely was a major part of your actions in the raid, that's 2 points, otherwise it is just one.

1. Did you attack (Ferocity), defend against (resolve), or circumvent (cunning) a problem or situation?

2. Did you express something new about your character or your background?

3. Did you give into your rage (ferocity), refuse to change your mind (resolve), or manipulate someone to further your own ends (cunning)?

4. Did you make a desperate action? What was it? +1 point for every desperate action you made. I think Sihylde made one at the very beginning, for example.

5. Did you kick ass?


It took about 2-3 days to make the journey from denmark to England, so I'm going to aim that you will slide into home port on Wednesday, so try have your ideas of home and answers posted by then!

This will also be your opportunity to retire your character, if you so wish. They can become secondary characters and either continue raiding or retire around the town.

F: A mix of A and E/ The village is mainly focused on craftsmanship--boasting quality weapons and other materials, requiring raiding parties for its current sustenance; if successful, its growth would be nearly unparalleled, but it is currently at a very fragile state due to beastmen raids. Its history is a simple one--one of banding together as simple villages, and a mix of culture of people and beliefs, with a wooden fortress (or great hall) overlooking the surroundings, built on a sanctified plateau to the Gods. The mountain where minerals are mined from also serves as the foundation of most of the village structures; it is said from the highest peaks that people can see beyond the seas into the south, east, west, and even farther into the storm-cold north. There is an underground river which supplies most of the needs of the village, but there is also reliance on the rain and slopes for drainage.

I mean who said we can't face underground monsters and beastmen! :P These are the downsides to underground farming (with sunlight streaming through artificial constructions). And/or I'm making this a bit too DF inspired? (or how I play DF anyway? Channel out a topsoil layer, build grates above = above ground/outdoor/inside farming area. :P)

Although I would certainly go for "C", too.

Huzzah! Secondary characters make decisions! Anyway,I thought of  our village as a relatively peaceful place,  a contrast to the (often brutal) raids. This was one of the reasons I chose C. Also, I will be posting an RP in a couple hours, as sort of an interlude thing.

I made a few, yeah.

Einar Ferociously busted that door open with a few fate points when they tried to close it on the raiders.

2. Did you express something new about your character or your background?

Einar took up the role of Acting Captain not for glory but to try to look out for the rest of the raiding team. The fact Jora indirectly undermined him by calling up dark spirits and Sihylde directly undermined him by ignoring his orders don't count. :P

3. Did you give into your rage (ferocity), refuse to change your mind (resolve), or manipulate someone to further your own ends (cunning)?

I don't think I qualify for this one.

4. Did you make a desperate action? What was it? +1 point for every desperate action you made. I think Sihylde made one at the very beginning, for example.

I refer back to shield-charging the door; it was listed as Desperate.

5. Did you kick ass?

Well, Einar blocked an arrow meant for Jora, cut off an arm, and killed at least three people in the first engagement alone. Then he cut off another arm and killed an unknown amount of defenders in the assault on the village. Next he knocked one guy out and killed another forcing the monastery door open, then cleared the way for Fromund to secure the building. And all of that was before he took the role of Acting Captain, so I think he did. :P

Apologies for disappearing everyone, I haven't touched a computer for most of the weekend due to interviews and home projects. Let me read up on what I've missed and I'll edit in some choices.

Fromund (if I remember correctly) chose ferocity for every single action possible.

I'm afraid I didn't in this category.

3. Did you give into your rage (ferocity), refuse to change your mind (resolve), or manipulate someone to further your own ends (cunning)?
Fromund charged into the gates during the beginning, sacrificing his own well being for the glory of fighting and such. I'd say so.

4. Did you make a desperate action? What was it? +1 point for every desperate action you made. I think Sihylde made one at the very beginning, for example.
Fromund made one desperate action when he charged the gates before they closed. Neato.

5. Did you kick ass?

I'm going to admit and say I did not know that!  :P But yeah, I just used that as a parallel of how far your homeland is from the Continent. It is not actually Denmark haha.

I like the description of the town! It is very evocative! And I did mean the first village, which you did do.

As for the experience description, great job on that as well! Only a few things:
1. You should say whether you think you deserve a +1 experience point or +2 for each question. For you, i think 1. +1 2. +2, for sure, you expressed your characters personality very well 3. +2 for sure, you manipulated a whole bunch of people's whose homes you just burned down into being okay with it. 4. Hmm i don't think you did a "desperate action", there weren't that many. Those are actions where if you fail you will probably be dead, or almost dead. 5. Yeah you kicked ass, Jora pulled off some very nice shots, +2  Total: +7 points +1 rp point + 6 loot points= 14 points

2. For the first question, I was more looking for an example. Like, "I used my cunning to convince the villagers of the need to burn down the town."  I also explained #4 in the previous paragraph.

Overall, good job with the experience questions, especially without me including an example!

Probably in the hold, though it is really up to you guys if you want to have them help row.
