((Woo, I'm still alive!))

Cast Mirror Image, which I should have done at the start of this madness.

Sir Lootington is currently not hearing well due to his ear being hurt quite badly, and when he sees the wolf in the doorway he immediatly get's the wrong impression.

"Damnit, we're being attacked by a giant wolf! Also I think my hearing might be problematic at the moment, but I'll deal with that after I've dealt with this werewolf."

Cast Sleep on the wolf.

Punch Lootington. Not hard enough to do more than 1 point of damage (and that only on a 6), but enough to get his attention and distract him from the spell.

...You know, that is very ironic considering there is a different forum game I am playing that has a karma system, and that I am trying to be evil in...

((Lootington's the only sane one in the whole damn party. There's a freaking big scary dungeon-wolf right there! ...Oh yeah, and I should really finish my sheet.))

And my character speaks wolvish, or at least an arctic dialect of it. Which I used to try and see if the wolf was friendly. And the wolf just spoke in common.

I know. I'm playing it too. You were going to do bad stuff to my ironwood trees.

((Because of the rules, sleep won't even let you have a saving throw. Technically, you also won't be able to react to it being cast because you aren't an opponent. I should also note that Sleep is an AOE spell and not a targeted spell and will affect everyone within 60 feet of Lootington))

From the player's handbook:
Casters cannot cast spells while in
melee range of an opponent. If a caster is hit by a spell or a
ranged attack prior to the caster’s turn in the round, the spell he
is casting is interrupted and wasted.

Lootington has deliberately attacked me before. I consider him an opponent until such time that he can prove himself trustworthy. He is not casting spells in melee range of me.
There, sleep spell averted.
