Adv Mode Questions

Ever since December, thanks to a streamer, I have gotten addicted to Dwarf Fortress, and of recently I have started playing Adventure Mode. After using sites and Threads to look for answers for some questions or confusion, I have managed to get most, but I am still unsure about a few things, which is why I have come here to ask, even the DF Wiki didn't provide much answers :s, So I have decided to ask in the main place here.

1. How do you properly Hire people to guard your claimed areas? Currently the only thing I am doing is just asking people to join, then have them wait at the Main Hall that I have built.

2. Is it possibly to have a tavern keep/bard to be recruited at my site Tavern? Or even have people visit it?

3. Is it possible to create a town from scratch and have people come and join and live in it?

3. Is it possible to grow farms? Like berries and such.

4. Do trees "eventually" grow back in Adventure mode (like after a few years)?

5. How do I properly make other agreements other than just asking people to follow me? I am not a hearthperson, and I have tried talking to the Lady/Captain of the towns if there was anything but they only tell me troubles.

Can't currently think of anything else at the moment, that's pretty much it. Also I read that you can get Divine stuff from the Vault, but only think I found throughout the place was the slab and rusted weapons and cloths :c.

5. 'Troubles' are the key. Going and sorting them out will gain you reputation once rumours of your deeds spread (which you can kick off yourself). People will start to greet you differently. Then you can become a hearthperson if you like and continue to solve troubles or ask your lord for specific missions.

1 You can't hire guards yet, but hiring hearthspeople will keep your site (relatively) safe when you retire. 3000 goblins will still gut the place and everyone in it, but that can't be helped.

3-1 , 2 You can currently build small sites, but people won't migrate there yet (I think). Assigning areas as taverns as temples currently has no effect.

I have been doing the troubles, killed many goblin camps, and slain a lot of beasts, (doing abductions now), but prior to what im doing now, the Lord/Lady of the neighboring town still didn't want a heartperson, unless its because I am already a Lady of my site already?

Is she refusing your request, or are you just not getting the option?
Does she know about your trouble-solving?
Try sleeping or leaving the site then coming back if you're sure you've told her about your deeds. Occasionally rumours get 'stuck'.

She refuses the request, I have enough rep to have 5 people following me currently. I thought going to the Vault and slaying them would help rep, but it didn't seem to help.

Your followers know your deeds, but does the Lady also know? Reputation isn't a consistent number you carry with you, it's spread through rumours. How does she greet you? That's usually a good indicator.

Followers may follow you because you're a pleasure to speak with too.

She greets me with saying its good to see me and thanks me for all that Ive done. I have told her pretty much every rumor, even beat the bronze colossus, and titan.

Also, what would happen if I start a fortress, (doing so to obtain adamantine and steel equipment), abandon it completely (with everyone still alive), would they continue to live their or leave? and If they were to all be gone would bandits or creatures start to live in there?, kind of curious on it, thinking of making a dungeon with this or something :)

The rusted weapons are actually very good

If you abandon the fortress (as opposed to retiring it) the living dorfs will run away to become bandits/refugees/weird cave dwelling groups, etc. Items will scatter all over the place making it hard to find anything you made.

Reclaims still happen during in-game worldgen, so eventually it might be reclaimed (but I've never seen a player fortress reclaimed by npcs, so it might be impossible). Any caged dragons/beasts/colossi you had will probably be roaming around free so you could set up some before you abandon. The underground will be full of creatures as expected.

Sadly, I cant find any dragons, or any beasts, most of them were killed by my adventure character lol, hopefully I finish making this dungeon/making items before my companions die of old age, I don't have to worry about myself tho due to Necromancy.

Also, a few more new questions.

1. How do abduction quests work? After asking around they tell me to go to a goblin location, so I went there, slaughted all the goblins, trolls and beak dogs, and found random people running around, Was told that in this area was 2 ppl, Well.. I can't seem to find them, there isn't any corpses either.

I ended up checking Legends and it says both of the missing people settled here, but only 1 of them died here, the other it doesn't say a single thing, nor if they moved to a different place...

2. After I became a Necromancer, then switched to Fortress mode to obtain adamantine weapons for my character (2 years and 8 months during this time), I come back to have random groups of humans following me, or attacking me, they don't trigger the ambush attack, but they oddly follow me for some distance, and some times my companions will attack them, or they will attack me, anyone know why they are following me? Is it cuz of me being a necromancer? Even if I do manage to get them to stop attacking and ask them why they are traveling, they just say "I'm on an important mission". At times I thought they were bandits, but 1 of the groups followed me through a town. And as far as I know of, I havn't done any horrible crimes, I just kill anything that attacks me, or goblins.
