The shaman lay facedown in the dirt, bleeding heavily from his wounds.  He went strangely silent, for a moment, as he mused over the many mistakes that had lead him to this point.  And reflected on the lack of dry-cleaning available in the area.  The latter wouldn't normally bother him, but he only had the one shirt.

Ah well.  He was holding himself together for now, at least.  Even if the pain was a bit of an annoyance.


: "Ah... dear me.  This does hurt."

: "Hmm...  Lady Cipio, if you're anywhere near me... do be so kind as to heal me."

: "Bleeding out is an altogether unpleasant experience, and I'd rather like to stop doing it."

Gawen took a hissing breath, feeling the poison creep through her veins. She doubted her stamina would last much longer, but she had to hold out if she were to ever have a chance of returning to her homeland. Rolling her eyes slightly at the druid's grim commentary, she fell backward a bit toward the rest of the group and swung her lance toward one of the bandits.

No if he tries to back out now these guy's chances for survival drops. "Well, we were on death row only a few moments ago. I guess a situation like this is only fitting." : "Ah.  Well!  That was unpleasant.  My thanks, Lady Cipio."

The shaman stood, dusting off his clothes and eyeing the cuts and bloodstains with a critical eye.

: "Tch.  That will be an absolute devil to get out.  And no lemons in sight, either."

: "Well, no matter.  At the very least, I can deal with a few of these scrapes."

William pulled out another book, the pages fluttering open as he muttered to himself, twisting his hand in the air.  A dark cloud--crackling with pale lightning--began to form around it, once more appearing to absorb all light around it; and then beyond, all color.

: "Oh, good.  I really do still know what I'm doing."

William's wounds quickly mended, as the lifeless, dessicated husk of the swordsman fell to the ground.  He hummed a little tune under his breath.

: "You know, good Captain, you were wrong.  I think this is going quite well!"

"For once, I agree with the General here. We aren't done with these scum yet." She tried to ignore the disconcerting way the sleeping swordsman had been dispatched. Magic is a tool. It's no different than if he'd met his end on my lance. . . She walked past the man and toward the pegasus rider.

"I cannot use this, Lady Cipio. I recognize the design; it's for use in the air." She held the spear own toward the woman, leaning somewhat on her own weapon.

: "Probably.  I assume."

: We've been escaping death by chance since we were sentenced. After all, weren't we all supposed to be dead long ago? Mulling about chances or whatnot is pointless.
