Fixed Njall's position.

Upon closer inspection, thrown weapons are Str. Crossbows do fixed damage, and composite bows and slings get damage bonuses from Str.

I'm not going to go back and change anything, but I will keep this in mind in the future.

Ah, it's alright. Although I must admit that me asking a player to post, rather than the other way around, is certainly a rarity :P

So, that was a pretty good fight. Nine days for a battle is a decent speed for play-by-post, based on my experiences. If you guys have any feedback about it--from the enemy setup and map design to number-crunching and statistics display--I'd love to hear it. I think I forgot to add on a few modifiers here and there; sorry about that, I'll try not to let it happen again.

I think my dice are cursed or something. I switched out the d6 I was using after it came up 1 on three consecutive test rolls, and seeing as I only have 1 d20, I have no way to roll all the 1s out without accidentally rolling a bunch of 19s and 17s in the process.

Other than that unpleasantness, I guess the only feedback I really have is that I wish the languages are explained a bit better. I thought Algedun would be the language of the land (which is why I took it in the first place) but apparently it isn't? So what do these monks speak?

And why the hell does it seem like everyone can speak Norwegian or Swedish or whatever our characters' language is based on except for me?

Algedun is the language of Sigland, the Anglo-Saxon inspired kingdom to the south. You're raiding Righland, the Celtic (primarily Gaelic) inspired island kingdom to the west. (They have strange names because they were the first two I came up with, and I hadn't really considered the idea that the languages should be named similarly to the places where they're spoken at that time.)

The idea of Algedun being spoken overseas was inspired by the use of French as a lingua franca in the early modern period. In the actual Middle Ages, Latin served the same purpose, but since this setting has no Roman Empire equivalent, there's no reason for everyone to use a dead language; thus, using the language of the most powerful country in the area makes more sense. In any case, not everyone speaks it--mostly people who expect to see foreigners often, like diplomats and merchants.

In-story, the monks were isolated, had no need to converse with outsiders, and no means by which learn the language. Out-of-story, their intelligence scores were bad and they only spoke one language.

As for the Nordic languages, I use this, Google Translate (using one of Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, or Icelandic) to fill in the gaps, and my small knowledge of Norwegian as a rough approximation of how to string things together. Dunno about everyone else.

That's why it's not a good trophy! I expected there to be another room or something that I could toss the head into for effect, but sadly the monastery seemed to be running on a skeleton crew.

Anyway, I have the rest of this prologue of sorts planned out, but I'm not sure where to take the campaign after it. So I want to ask you guys what kind of direction you want to take the game in:

- How much magic do you want to see? What kinds?
- How much of the world do you want to travel to? Where specifically?
- Are you comfortable with raiding or do you want that phased out?
- Are you comfortable with mass combat?
- What kind of tone should the game have?
- Anything else? Plot setups you can't stand? Types of villains you don't want to see?
