sooo.... there is this. My resident Skeletal Dwarven God of Death, Disease, Blight, and Agriculture, received the worship of a cow....

I suddenly have a great suspicion of cows.

I think the bigger issue here is how the cow in question came to be named in the first place.  So far as I know, still the only way for this to occur is by striking down a number of lesser foes, or a few historical ones.  That cow has seen some *&%@

The mod I do have doesnt even touch cows. I checked.

These are the same cows as vanilla.

Don't forget the shield.  And since it got the 'obsessed with mortality' and was worshiping a Death god, it could have become a necromancer...that could then take on apprentices...

That cow is epic.  You should craft statues of it and place them all over your fort.

If a creature's species is changed it will be referred to as its new species.  My guess is that this cow was once a person and was transformed near the end of its life.

Is this caused by a mod? In such case, boring non-event, move on.

But there was an issue in vanilla with playable horses and possibly cows and at the time Toady said there will still a couple of edge cases around that are tough to find until they actually happen. I was hoping this was that.

As said before, the mod does not touch cows. I checked the raws, trust me
