After reading the entirety of both threads, I must say I am amazed that Arstotzka is doing as well as it is, since its players spend so much time arguing and whining. At least Moskurg can work together fairly well...

Ah, yes. The maelstrom of design. Ritual combat of the Arstotzkan engineers. Our halls are filed with the bones of engineers who could not weather the storm.

(( It constantly cracks me up that the one concession ES gave us from the whining still hasn't been used at all. It's like it was just a matter of principal or something. :P ))

Well, that's a given. How do you make sure your designs will work if you don't constantly whine at them? Pray to your god or something?

Other important rituals are:
1. Cursing the enemies' (read: other designers on our team) design by pointing out their potential flaws
2. Warding against curses to your own design by insisting that those flaws don't exist, or aren't so bad
3. Trying to overload a design with insistence that, since we did this one thing that's completely unrelated to what we're now doing, we should have total mastery of it by now, and we should be able to add all this in and get it for Cheap.

So, they're saying that by doing that, eS must favor them and thus they are more powerful.

I say that by not doing so, eS should allow his GLORIOUS MOSKURGER BIAS to work properly, since the more mature nation must clearly win.

Keep in mind that these rituals are performed ad nausea until evictedSaint forces us to make a vote, and, over several iterations of this, the original designer will eventually relent to drop some features, or we all just vote for something else to spite them.
