"Yeah, what Junior said. This is likely some form of misunderstanding, easily solved by rational discussion- and he's serious when he means those magics of his are really fuckin' lethal."

Attempt emitting a telepathic 'wave of calm' in the direction of the guards. Not so potent as to stupefy them, just enough to get all that adrenaline out of their system.

"Uh-uh. So about the Stone Dragon agent guy, when exactly are they suppose to show up?"

SOC and Theta

"Please, if we deceived the great lord of this village, then can you tell us that we deceived him about? This could all just be a misunderstanding. Do not attempt force on us, since, due to my magics, my attacks would have trouble..being..nonlethal".

"Yeah, what Junior said. This is likely some form of misunderstanding, easily solved by rational discussion- and he's serious when he means those magics of his are really fuckin' lethal."

The two decide to take a very rational, diplomatic approach, backed by a fair whack of telepathic suggestion. The guards' aggression leeches visibly ( to Theta ) out of their minds, but their overall demeanour remains the same.

"Then you will have no problem coming with us, then." the head guard states, as no nonsense as they come.

The two of you follow, flanked at every conceivable angle by the eight guards. Heading back to meet the chief, you find him talking to two individuals.

Tactile and Tech Monkey both see the two figures arrive, surrounded by armed escort.

"I would implore you to show them mercy, wise chieftain. Surely, whatever benefactor sent us to you also meant for them to be here.", Tactile requests.

"They will have to explain themselves WELL. They intruded on me in a most inconvenient manner and then had the AUDACITY to pass themselves off as the chosen, and have free reign of my people's home. Nonetheless...I will listen." At least he's calmed down for the most part, it seems to Tactile.

"Uh-uh. So about the Stone Dragon agent guy, when exactly are they suppose to show up?"

Ever the level-headed one, Tech brings the topic of discussion back to the honestly uninteresting main quest.

"Well-" and of course the Chief never gets to finish the sentence. Wanna know why?

Cause 19 boulders just drop out of the damn sky and one of them happens to land on him.

The village is thrown into chaos. The impact of all the small meteorites knocks everyone to the ground, killing numerous civilians, including one of the guards.

As everybody struggles to see what happened, the boulders start moving. Their shapes start changing form, becoming more humanoid by the second. When it's all done, 19 Rockmen stand in loose congregation, ready to kill everything in their path.

The 7 guards in the immediate vicinity spring to action.

What do you guys do?

So, yeah, basically rocks fall, a bunch of NPCs die. How's that for lazy GMing?

"Huh."

Tech tugs on the sleeve of Azay and asks "Hey does this place have like, a magical armory or some shit?"

Also, try to see if I can't temporarily stop any of the Rock Golems.

"Well, hey! Looks like that's our ride, Cerberus. LATER LOSERS!"

Theta motions for Cerberus to follow after. Or don't, it's his funeral.

Fucking run like I've never ran before. Rockmen are probably immune to mindfuckery and this whole village thing has just overall been not worth it, so I'm out!

Follow Cerberus wherever it is he goes. Make use of my scourge against attacking rock-men.

"Hey! At least TEST your mental manipulation!

...So, what are your powers? Fleshbending?"

Find a chance to try to Life Drain an enemy. If it doesn't work, exit the village, on the way draining the life of those with lethal injuries as to make their death quick and painless rather than a slow bleeding demise. If I don't have time to drain this way, take someone injured with me.
Also, if I happen by a blacksmith's shop or something, take a hammer or chisel or such. Pickax could work, too.

Just quickly reminding you guys you have your created-from-nothing pickaxe and scourge.  So you're not at all defenceless in a straight fight.

Tactile Man is the first to act, inner heroism bursting forth as he tries to distract the Rockmen from the fleeing civilians. Despite his shouting and cartwheeling and other attention grabbing tactics, Tactile is only able to draw the attention of 1 Rockman. The Rockman turns to face him, arms outstretched like a mummy, desiring the breaking of anything it gets its hands on.

[ Tactile Currently fighting: 1]

"Huh."

"Hey does this place have like, a magical armory or some shit?", Tech Monkey says to Azay, who doesn't pay much attention, only pointing at a building a short distance away, that looks more arcane than the surrounding buildings. Azay pulls out his wand and blasts pressured bursts of water at one of the Rockmen, obliterating its centre. The Rockman promptly collapses. The destruction of one attracts the attention of three more, who converge on Azay and Tech Monkey's position.

Tech attempts to utilise his power, hoping that the Rockmen are some form of technology. The three approaching Rockmen halt in their tracks for a second, before jerking back to life and continuing to march forward. Tech notes that the Rockmen seem less fluid, more pained in their movements.

[ Tech and Azay currently fighting: 3 ]

SOC does his part, attempting to life drain one of the Rock Men. It doesn't work. SOC reasons that that makes sense, whilst dodging the fist of the Rockman trying to kill him. Once SOC gets a bit of distance between them, he does notice one thing. There was a touch of life underneath the Rockman's stony exterior. It's just not available to touch, and so can't be life drained.

Looking around for someone to life drain, SOC happens upon an injured child whose ribs have been caved in. Since he doesn't have time to drain the kid of life, SOC picks up the kid over his shoulder. "Thank you...thank you.." the kid mutters, barely conscious. Despite his best efforts, SOC can't help but feel a pang of guilt. [-1 to all physical rolls due to carrying a child on your back and guilt at wanting to use him like a disposable battery. ]

Theta follows SOC, deciding to use her self-made Scourge for the first time. Running past two Rockmen, she snags the arm of one of them, and using her momentum, slams the arm into the chest of the other Rockman, collapsing the second Rockman entirely. Unfortunately the impact is also enough to trip Theta, who is now prone. And the Rockman with the scourge attached to his arm is getting up...

Currently fighting Guards: 7 ( and the guards are slowly losing, 2 out of eight already dead.

Currently killing civilians: 5 ( 5 dead civilians per turn. Not that I'm really keeping track of how many villagers are left, it's just to make the more heroic of you feel guilty. )

Club the Rockman's joints. See if I can hurt them.

If I see Son of Cerberus carrying the hamburger'd kid, call out and tell him about Azay's healing potions.

...draining will be a last resort..I'll only use it if there isn't enough healing to go around.
Lie him on his back somewhere concealed, and try to get between the stones of a golem with my scythe. If the scythe is ineffective at getting past the golem's stones, try getting a tenticle in there and draining life with that touch.

"Grand. Just fucking grand."

Control a nearby guard into giving me their weapon and use it to fight the rockman who has my scourge wrapped around him.

Explode one of the Rockmen and start walking towards the Arcane building.

Tactile Man unslings the billy club, whirling it around for dramatic effect, and to get the feel of the weapon in sync with his movements. Dashing forward quickly, he pivots like a ballerina, swinging the club at the Rock Man's left leg. The leg cracks, and the Rockman falls over, crippled.  Whilst in an opportunity to capitalise, Tactile notices that the limb just quickly repairs itself, with no lasting damage. The Rockman is still prone.

[Tactile currently fighting: 1]

Meanwhile, SOC puts the kid down, trying not to think about the potential draining that may be necessary. Turning to face 1 incoming Rockman, Jr. draws out his scythe, sharper than sharp, as lethal as him. Swinging the weapon in a smooth arc, it makes contact with the Rockman's shoulder, slipping between what little cracks there are between the joints and excavating a fair bit through the stone. As the scythe penetrates part of the Rockman's centre, blood starts seeping out.

SOC draws out the scythe, and attempts to use his tentacles to reach into the crack and drain life. The Rockman's defense is on point, however, and swats the tentacles away, blood still oozing down its left side. The two of you stand at an impasse.

[SOC currently fighting: 1]

Theta isn't having the best time. Her scourge being snagged in the arm of the Rockman she's fighting, she attempts to pull it out, to no avail. Looking around, she sees one of the guards moving to fight the other Rockmen, and attempts to mind control him into giving her his weapon. Unfortunately, due to the stress and chaos of the fight, Theta isn't able to focus enough and the guard goes off with whatever he was doing.

Meanwhile, the Rockman moves closer, whip still attached to arm. It moves with the fury of an iceberg, knowing it will reach its destination in time. Backing away, Theta trips and falls backwards, leaving her open to a finishing blow. The Rockman poises itself to deliver a spine-crushing kick to Theta's face, and Theta, realising she is about to die, stares at the incoming kick with every fibre of her being.

And the kick stops. In midair. When Theta finally blinks, she realises that the Rockman is completely frozen. Well, not exactly frozen. It looks more like the Rockman is trapped in a skintight invisible barrier, which it is struggling to free itself from. The Rockman is now telekinetically trapped, for how long, Theta does not know.

[ Theta currently fighting: 1 ]

Tech Monkey focuses on the closest of the three Rockmen, but the mental effort required to kaboom it is not enough. With more effort and a bit more luck Tech could probably do some damage, but in any case, he doesn't care. He walks over to Azay's hut, and peeks inside. A hooded woman is running about, trying to gather various bits of magical equipment. Using his technology senses, Tech realises that every single item in the building is a piece of technology.

"Yes, what do you want? I'm trying to save as many artefacts here as I can, so if you don't mind..." the woman snaps at Tech when she notices him.

Rockmen numbers: 17

Currently fighting Super individuals: 3

Currently fighting guards: 7, vs 6 guards.
