Name: Antonio Di Vini
Age: 21
Appearance: Antonio stands at 5'9", and is relatively thin -- not unhealthy, but simply a very lean figure. This means that he is not the most physically imposing figure around, but to assume a lack of physical ability would be a poor idea, as Antonio is merely a very wiry sort. His hair is blonde and is actually fairly curly, though it's kept at medium length at the longest. His eyes are a fairly vibrant green color, but this is nothing beyond the natural. As for clothing, his clothing is... well, it's ostentatious. It's Italian merchant's clothing: a red, fairly loose tunic sits under a grey vest, which has a decoration near the top left corner: embroidered are green vines and purple grapes. He also wears pants of a similar red to the tunic, but tighter since there is no vest to keep it down and since he is travelling.
In terms of personality, Antonio would sometimes seem to be the almost stereotypical rich merchant's son -- relatively laidback but with an eye for business, and with an easy smile than hides a sharklike cunning. But a very significant element of his personality is that his highest priority is those he's developed an attachment to rather than money, and as a matter of fact Antonio harbors a particularly vicious protective streak.
Backstory: Floriano Di Vini is technically a commoner man, but he is a commoner in a place where money quite often is worth as much as nobility, the Republic of Florence, even if it is nominally part of the Holy Roman Empire. Floriano may not be a member of the council of signoria of Florence (the Republic's rulers), but he has made a name for himself as a grower and owner of vineyards, a man who has begun to ply the wine trade and ply it well, and who makes a point of investing in the lands and wine crops of other countries to sell himself -- this is hardly the most stable of ideas in this age, but Floriano is a very ambitious man, and it's given him wealth so far.
Antonio Di Vini, born in Florence but by now fairly well-traveled throughout Europe, often found himself aiding in his father's schemes, heading from place to place, and making acquaintances but rarely friends as he would go selling wine in Marseille, or scouting vineyards in Campania, or looking for various business opportunities -- but given the amount of wealth his father tended to furnish him with, Antonio couldn't complain. He grew very cunning and surprisingly strong as he grew to adulthood, as he learned to maneuver through foreign lands, business and intrigue, but as grounded as this practice was he never gained any sort of magical ability, something noone (including himself) figured he needed.
During Eirwen's War For Galwalas, Floriano saw an opportunity for setting up ties within a newly-ruled kingdom, and sent his son to go furnish the more aristocratic nobles on Eirwen's side with wine, to make them think very highly of the Di Vini family so that Floriano could swoop in later and start making some business opportunities. This saw Antonio among the various merchants helping to supply Eirwen's armies and allies, though his role was much smaller than that of those supplying the armies.
Antonio would meet another merchant doing the very same as he, a Galwalas native in his mid-twenties by the name of Cadoc Lloyd, who was there to sell clothing to the nobles and to some of the more prestigious enchanters working for Eirwen. With the two being very alike in their cunning, in their eye for opportunity, and in their knowledge of the various lands of Christendom, Antonio and Cadoc would become very fast friends, a bond on the level Antonio had simply not experienced before, and during the campaign Antonio and Cadoc would become a rather known fixture of the noble camps, plying their wares often side by side, even up to the siege of the castle.
During the final days of the siege of Castle Camlann, Antonio and Cadoc parted ways for a little bit -- while Antonio had more recently filled his stock, Cadoc had to leave to go get another shipment of his wares, and though he planned to return shortly he left to the other parts of Galwalas. This would have been a very routine thing, except for one important and tragic fact: when the Tyrant pulled the Garden apart and plunged Galwalas into the mists, Cadoc had not yet returned. Now those opportunities Floriano had sent Antonio to secure were gone... but more importantly, Cadoc was gone, and Antonio's priorities very rapidly shifted, to those of his own: he was going to find Cadoc, and he was going to join the Order to do so.
