If we don't delay the walls--9 months from Summer is near post-Spring. We just have to farm up and live or counter any campaigns our way.
If we do rush out and do whichever, we risk losing folks instead of gaining salvage and men--and do remember we somewhat had contact with a BIGGER FISH of a bandit down West. I think. I've no idea if that warlord knows other than 'hey new fort, new people!'

So no way are we doing this until we know our new settlement area is okay. In the least is my opinion that I can type out while this internet holds for the next ten or so minutes.

The rest of the year passes uneventfully. Which could be construed as either lucky or unlucky, depending on your point of view. But so it goes.

Preaching to the choir. I've said it before, but I really admire your restraint in running Spamkingdom for so long without feature creep.
...not sure what the complexity you're referring to is, though.


There will be no extra taxes this year. You'll just have to make that money stretch somehow.

The Architect is shown into the throne room.

"I am pleased to report that work is completed. As completed as it's going to get, that is. A proper job would mean tearing the walls down and starting from scratch- but I assure you I have done the best I can with what was available to me. The city walls will now no longer fall down if the enemy looks at them funny, making our chance of surviving a siege that much higher."

You acknowledge his good work.

"I have many more projects I would like to embark on. I shall return when I require your assistance again."

After he leaves, the Advisor enters.

"The treasury is bare, and the men restless. Is it time for a campaign, my Queen?"

Oh, yeah, that's intentional. I did not set out to create a clone of Spamkingdom, the army-management shenanigans were planned from the start. They're not that complicated.

The blood and bones were stored in the treasury until you find a use for them. The skin was tanned and made into leather; it is currently sitting around waiting for something to happen to it. Maybe if you had more money?
