: "Lucky for us there were only twenty five. If there had been twenty six we would have lost some of the wagons for sure."

"An even twenty eh? That's kind of odd. Maybe they're stepping up security." As the first of the four empty carts emerged from underground, the inspector plucked out the jar of honey. "Hey boss, get a load of this!"

The leader tapped his obscured chin for a moment before signalling a thumbs up. The honey was placed on top, within easy reach.

[Sirus]

Sam eyed the jar, mouth watering slightly. Now that was a prize and a half. Not as good as freedom, of course, but it had to be number four or five on the list of Good Things.

: "Any more of those in there?"

As the other carts were brought up, the other hooded men began to shift the vegetables into the civilian wagons.

The inspector continued poking around now in the lead cart. "...Huh. Fair bit of gold in there." He looked up and around at the assembled rebels, and the light from the staff brightened a bit. "...Yeah, we'll take the honey and the wine, the rest of the fish, and we'll leave you the gold." The inspector continued poking around, and stumbled across the empty chest. "Ooh, interesting. What was in here?"

[Stirk]

"That is where I hide my diary. Lugging it around is what made me so big and strong."

[Swordstar]

"Brock shut up. We're all on the same team here. Martyn, you were the one going through the wagon. What was in the box?"

As much as the attitudes of the other rebels was irritating, the continuing need of other members of the group to poke and prod at them was tiring and Sharne saw no need to annoy some of their few allies.

[GiglameshDespair]

"That is where I hide my diary. Lugging it around is what made me so big and strong."

Roux grinned, continuing the joke before Sharne sharned all over it.
"Yeah, it's just a shame yer can't read, huh?"

[Stirk]

"Brock shut up. We're all on the same team here. Martyn, you were the one going through the wagon. What was in the box?"

As much as the attitudes of the other rebels was irritating, the continuing need of other members of the group to poke and prod at them was tiring and Sharne saw no need to annoy some of their few allies.

"Keep a short leash on your pet, wizard girl. She looks ready to bite"

Roux grinned, continuing the joke before Sharne sharned all over it.
"Yeah, it's just a shame yer can't read, huh?"

"It has pictures in it, like any good book. Mostly limited to smiley faces and axes, but such is my life."

Martyn gave a deep, exasperated sigh.  This was starting to sound very, very familiar.  And he was a bit annoyed, dealing with this now, that he hadn't just tossed the box off the side of the wagon when the swordsman took his new toy.

:  "Ask Kaldach."

Kaldach almost felt inclined to repeat Martyn's performance, but simply shrugged, shaking the sheath behind him.
: "A sword. Not for sale."

The inspector shrugged. "Alright, fair enough. There's an axe in here too. Did your meathead not want it? We don't have much call for it." By now, the first of the replacement carts was almost entirely loaded.

[Swordstar]

"Call me someone's pet again and you'll wish I was leashed. We're here to do a job that's life or death and you're attempting to antagonize some of the few allies we have. So if you two have any brains at all, you'll shut up and behave."

[Lucus Casius]

:  "While I agree... this isn't the time and place for an argument.  Deserved or not."



:  "Brock, grab your axe, then help them get the other carts loaded.  That goes for the rest of us, too, who aren't keeping watch.  The quicker we move, the better."

"Call me someone's pet again and you'll wish I was leashed. We're here to do a job that's life or death and you're attempting to antagonize some of the few allies we have. So if you two have any brains at all, you'll shut up and behave."

The apparent leader spoke up. "It's fine. As long as we get what's ours, I don't much care." He nodded toward the inspector. "Don't mind his curiosity, its just his way."

[Sirus]

Sam helped move the boxes, humming while she worked. Without a way to defend herself she wouldn't do much good standing on watch anyway.
