Eh, Farra never talked to her desert dweller that much, but she seemed to be doing well. Now though, was the time to finish what she started.

Liam urges his mount forward, bearing down on one of the bandits, sword raised. There's a flash of iron, and the head of the thug rises up off the shoulders before falling to the road behind him.

Esther goes to face the enemy arcanist, and conjurs a writhing mass of dark energy, bringing it crashing down on her target. The strike sends up a plume of sand, obscuring the body-

Which makes it all the more surprising when a slash of flame impacts against Esther's chest, burning her and knocking her off of her feet and into unconsciousness. The sand clears to reveal a badly wounded mage, clutching his tome with white knuckled determination.

Liam held his horse back for a moment. He hadn't expected their last charge, including his own attack, to be as effective as it was. They weren't out of danger, but at least they had a little breathing room now.
