As the sword sailed effortlessly through the axeman's chest, the searing sensation quickly built again in Kaldach's hands, much stronger than before. Yet, despite the numbing pain, his grip only tightened until his muscles couldn't tense any more.

A soft but bloody red glow started to form in the veins on his hands, barely distinguishable from his injuries and spreading only an inch further up from his wrists. The mercenary took another deep breath before craning his neck up, still in a combat stance yet poised to continue on.

The hooded man ran past Brock and Roux, not noticing the condition of Kaldach in his haste, diving through the tangle of iron and steel as the knight and the cavalier traded blows.  With a cry of triumph he rolled free from the skirmish, clutching something in his hands as he rose once more to his feet.

  "...Those spears of yours definitely are!"
