[Sirus]

Sam cautiously approached Esther.

: "This is some mess, huh? How are you holding up, Esther?"

[Twinwolf]

"I'm doing good, I guess. Honestly, that whole thing with the king went better than I expected, besides how the battle went. Even if we got thrown out after, we got what we came for. I'm worried about Sharne and Kaldach though... I was going to talk to them but they sorta went off with Martyn." Esther said, sitting on a log in the camp. She hadn't talked much with Sam, although she did find the woman pretty. Sort of been distracted by other things all this time. "How're you doing?"

[Sirus]

: "Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I had these hopes that the king would, I dunno, overthrow the guilds and lead an army to attack Mordo by the end of the year. Something like that, anyway. Well, hopefully those three are discussing what to do next.

"Looked like you took a pretty bad hit back at the castle. Did you get Bert to take a look at you?"

[Twinwolf]

"Yeah, after the battle. He got it fixed up. It wasn't as bad as it looked, just hurt a bunch."

"Honestly, I sorta do better when I'm hurt, sometimes. Gets the adrenaline going. It's sorta weird honestly, but if it works it works. Now... honestly, I've had enough seriousness for one day. So I have a question. What's up with you and Martyn?"

[Sirus]

Sam blinked in shock. How did she know?! She couldn't know! Yes, the bard spent more than a little time gazing in Martyn's direction, and sometimes sighed happily when he smiled at her, but that was it! She had been very very discreet!

: "Whaaaaat makes you think there's something up with Martyn and I?"

[Twinwolf]

"Ah, some people are just good at this sort of thing. Call it intuition."

"Also, I can see the moony eyes you make when you think he's not looking, or when he and the other guys do some exercise in the camp. It's pretty cute actually."

[Sirus]

Sam felt her face heating up.

: "I--my eyes do not get 'moony'! I'm just...happy to see that he's taking care of himself! Because exercise is important, you know?"

: "Are you sure your intuition isn't mistaken? Maybe picking up on your own flirting by accident?"

[Twinwolf]

"Uh huh. Real convincing." Esther said, "Sure, lets just say it's me looking for it. If I were in such a position - although if I'm looking at guys I think I'd probably have hit my head real hard, bleh - I'd think, maybe if standing back and waiting for him to make a move, I should try to say something, gauge his feelings and all. Of course, that's just if I was going moony over someone. Juuust saying."

[Sirus]

Sam pondered this. It made sense, but girls in her village didn't usually pursue guys. Other way around, really.

: "Not that I'm asking about anyone in particular...but if I were interested in someone, what sort of things should I say? Y'know, just while we're on the subject."

[Twinwolf]

"Well, in this purely hypothetical situation, could do a few things if you wanna try to make things work. Maybe find their interests and talk about them. Things besides the obvious, I mean. Revolution can't be the only thing they - this hypothetical person I mean, likes. Talking deeper than the surface stuff like 'how're you doing'. Maybe what he's going to do after this all blows over. Physical contact if you can manage it without being creepy, a hand on the shoulder or arm."

Esther herself hadn't really gone after guys before... but she had friends who did, and had not noticed she didn't play for that team and tried to 'help'.

[Sirus]

The bard tried to look as though she weren't taking mental notes, and ignored the sly suggestions as to who those notes regarded.

: "So, uh. You have gotten this sort of stuff to work in the past, right?" The mage was certainly pretty enough that such tactics would probably have worked in her favor.

[GiglameshDespair]

Roux sat for a while, then shrugged.
"Eh, what the 'ell."
She muttered to herself, then got up and wandered in the direction Shane had gone.
"'Ey, Sharne."

[Lucus Casius]

  "Regardless.  We need to decide our next move."

  "I don't believe I need to explain how this new information changes things.  But we need reinforcement if we want to act on it.  Some useful ally."

  "Or at the very least, mercenaries."

[CrimsonEon]

: "Then we should start at Qun and work our way south 'til we get around to Chilcinne. Like you planned earlier."

[Lucus Casius]

  "I'm inclined to agree.  Though under the circumstances..."

  "Well, we'll see.  We may need to find a ship, depending on what help or news we find in the old Sudantese lands.  But for now, Qun should be our next stop."
