Farra had made her way to the Oasis slowly, filling up her waterskin once she finally arrived. That axe right before the end there had hurt like hell, she'd definitely have to get it dealt with. That whole fight in general was a close call...

Sure, before dreams of freedom overtook her, this was what she did. Granted, the ones protecting the caravan usually shed less blood. But, they did it. She still didn't take it as a time to celebrate, since living to see another day was enough right now.

Bertholt kneels in front of her, pointedly averting his eyes from her chest and carefully- almost reverently- lifting her shirt just up to her stomach to examine her cuts.
"I'm merely concerned about your well-being, Roux. The way you talk about it, it's almost as if you'd like me to have those ideas you're hinting at."

"You can let Farra know if you wish, but the priest is not needed. His time is better served making sure everyone is ready to travel. This is something private. We must return our people to the desert and we do not need his words for that."

Roux twitched every time his fingers brushed her abs.
  "Like 'ell I would, dumbass! 'Sides, yer a priest, ain't yer? Yer 'ave to be a virgin for life or summin'."

"Is that what they tell you outside? Most people who don the hood aren't looking for love except that of the Goddess, that I'll grant you, but that doesn't mean we must remain celibate; the Goddess did will man to, if I might put it softly, be fruitful and multiply. I myself wouldn't be averse to such a relationship, if I were to find the right woman."
Bertholt carefully dabs her cuts and lacerations, patching her up with the lightest of touches.
"You should fine, aside a little soreness. My suspicions were unfounded; I thought you might have taken a graver wound. I suppose you really are indestructible."

Not knowing what to say in the face of Sharne's obvious pain, Sam decides to make herself useful and fill the party's waterskins. She finds herself near Kaldach on the oasis' edge.

: "Some mess, huh?"

Kaldach briefly pulled his mouth to the side in a brief gesture of agreement.
: "Yeah." He glanced around the dilapidated buildings and the now-fresh bodies strewn about the desert, "Proof people can be just as nasty on the outside as in. Best hope is just to put them down before they take people down with them."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Th'... right woman, huh."
  "W-well, anyway!"
"Ain't like I met a lotta priests before you, Blueberry. Not many left back in th' 'omeland. Think me da's band mighta robbed one once, an' neither 'im or me da was focusin' on discussin' theon- theologyism."
Despite her embarassment she smirked when Bertholt professed her invincibility.
"Course I am. Ain't nothin' for a girl in Chilcinne 'cept bein' some guy's property or bein' 'arder than every bastard 'o tries, and I ain't no-one's sweet woman."
"An' a lot o' bastards tried."

[Sirus]

: "I guess so..." The bard just wasn't quite sure how one was supposed to tell the bad ones apart from the good sometimes. "Sharne's pretty upset. I'm guessing she must have known some of the people here."

[CrimsonEon]

: "Probably. She's been sitting on a lot of stories about this country. Sounds like someone who's traveled a bunch, and you can't travel without remembering faces." The mercenary briefly paused, stretching his weapon arm as dull cracks sounded, loosening the joints, "Can't say the same for myself, on traveling or remembering."

[Sirus]

: "Really? I woulda figured a mercenary like yourself would do a lot of traveling."

"I should think so; I'd pity the fool who tries to put such a trammel on you, but one feels he will have earned his punishment. I myself have no truck for such nonsense; the prioress who taught me how to heal put paid to any such beliefs I might have had once. She was a harsh teacher, but an excellent one.

And yes, the right woman, Roux. Why, would you like to know what that would entail?"

Kaldach's face twisted briefly, as if recognizing a misstep.
: "...I haven't been a mercenary very long, haven't traveled far, and what I have done wasn't worth remembering when you're just working for coin. Like how a carpenter working to live wouldn't remember every wood plank he's shaped." The mercecnary shrugged, "You've been with the resistance longer than me, probably for a more important reason. That's more fuel to remember what you're doing."

[Sirus]

Sam winced, sensing that she might have made one of those conversational mistakes. A foe paw?

: "I...I see. Sorry, didn't mean to touch a sore spot."

[CrimsonEon]

: "I wouldn't worry over it. Sometimes toes get stepped on. It happens and people move on."
The mercenary's eye cracked open, brow less furrowed.
: "Anyway, enough of the grit. I still can't wrap my head around that thing you do. It obviously isn't normal drum playing. I'd call magic, but it doesn't look like it."
