Roux laughed as she emptied another bucket over her head, her back to the ogling priest.
"Ain't it the best time to be chipper? We came out alive, didn't we? An' it was lookin' touch-an'-go for a minute iffn I 'adn't been so mighty."
She flexed her biceps playfully, grinning over her shoulder.

"Don't get too carried away with yourself. I can only patch you up so much."
Bertholt reminds her half-teasingly.

"Actually, mind finishin' that patchin' up? Ain't like you healed the whole thing. I don't care too much 'bout some little scratches like this, but ain't no reason to leave it."

Sharne sighed at the news.

"I thought that might happen... If you've found the bodies, those aren't our rites. We bury our people. Or burn their bodies if we cannot bury them. Sorry Esther, but I need to go look at this. Enjoy the ring."

She headed over to the house Martyn had left, wincing at the sight.

Bertholt produces some bandages and salves, finding a convenient rock to sit on behind Roux.
"You'd be correct. I am going to need to see if you have any wounds underneath your clothes, actually. Do you mind just lifting your shirt a little?"

The cloaked man said nothing for a time, looking wearily out over the mass of corpses.  Even away from the suffering inflicted upon Izzarra by the occupation, horrors still seemed to fall upon those who did not deserve them, and those who might be capable of protecting the innocent, those who should be their brothers, were nowhere to be found.  Only for some band of wanderers to come in, too late to act, with the only help they could give...

  "...I can assist you in burying them, if you'd like.  Or at least see if the priest wants to say something over them."

: "I'll help too. I'm still pretty fresh from that fight."

Liam pieced his armor back on, having examined his wounds in the intervening period of time. It had not been as bad as he feared - even though the bandit leader's axes had knocked him down and taken all the breath out of him at the time, his armor had done its job. The cuts and bruises were manageable, if nothing else. He would just have to ask Sharne or one of the others about the herbal remedies they had been using for less serious wounds later.

A small grunt escaped him as he stood. Then he joined the others as they began to discuss a burial. He had hoped to stay ignorant on the topic, but now that he'd heard, there was no use denying the truth.

Sharne shook her head.

"No, thank you. I appreciate your offer, but I cannot accept. I will handle it. I'm not going to bury them. I'll simply set the building on fire. It will collapse on the bodies and give them what burial we can offer. We need to keep moving and can't waste the time unfortunately."

Martyn nodded.  Under the circumstances, it was probably the best thing to do.

  "As you like.  Do you still want me to get the priest?  Or Farra, for that matter?"

"Ain't yer just gonna 'it me with yer 'eal stick?"

"My "heal stick" only has so much power before it breaks. I would rather conserve it for emergencies."

  "I can tell yer where I'm 'urt, dumbass!"
"'E got me in th' tummy, that's all."
She hesitated, her flush slowly deepening.
  "Actually, it ain't nothin'. I'll deal wi it meself."

"Is that so? Let me have a look. Somewhere less public, perhaps."

She hesitated again, before she huffed and stode behind one of the buildings Sharne wasn't about to burn down.
"...Alright! Let's get this done, Blueberry."
She stopped out of sight of the others and crossed her arms.
  "This better not be some slick idea, dumbass, or else I'll..."
